I don't really understand this enabling stuff. Are people that sadlife that they have to vicariously live through a shitty bland anime character? I like my life as it is. Dont need to live it through somebody else.
All pander texts are like that. There's a reason why there's a new age of pseudo-classy pornographic literature for women after all.

I think stuff like that has always existed in anime (i.e. series blatantly designed to make the audience self-insert and "fulfil" their fantasies). If SAO gets more shit, it's because the target it's catering to is very badly viewed. And, well, you can do the stuff SAO does while having something interesting like a distinctive visual style or a somewhat engaging plot or cast of characters. From what I see and read, the show has nothing.

About Valvrave

True Calendar (T.C.) 71 - A new age where 70% of the human population lives in space thanks to the development of “Dyson Sphere”, a city in space.

The world is divided into two main powers: The Dorssia Military Pact Federation, a power which grew out of a military alliance, and the Atlantic Rim United States (ARUS), which grew in power as it expanded its trade agreements. The minor nation of JIOR has declared neutrality between these two forces and maintains its peace through economic prosperity.

Within the JIOR’s Sphere, Haruto Tokishima lived an ordinary life as a high school student in the division known as “Module 77”—until the Dorssian military begins their sudden invasion!

But the whole world will be shaken when Haruto meets the mysterious humanoid weapon, Valvrave!

Nope, this is not a Gundam series. No sir. Not at all! (lol)

This is the least interesting of the three mecha shows. MJP has the Aniplex factor and Orange doing the CG, and being a comedy. Gargantia has a good up-and-coming director and the promise of really good animation. What does Valvrave have? I'm not even hopeful for it.

What on Earth are you talking about? MJP isn't Aniplex, Valvrave is Aniplex.

Really? Wasn't MJP that Aniplex x some other company project? I remember seeing a promo visual like that.

Well, my bad :(. It still has Orange.

No? MJP is a Toho production. Valvrave is Aniplex x Sunrise. It's the next Gundam! Best theme songs lineup of all time too.

I'm quite surprised .not that it ended that way but by the amount of stuff they crammed right at the end for them to stop .

They got most of the stuff right , anyway..
Still i wish i knew how well it did to see if i have a chance to see the
"third crusade"
animated because there is a LOT to do .

Still it was fun , but now reading the books will do ... ( it's better than expected )

So the new Aniplex BD set for Gurren Lagann is $549.98 U.S dollars..? Has there ever been a more expensive commercially sold set?

Technically the F/Z sets are even more if you combine both of them. (about the same length.)

Fate/Zero was also a show which wasn't previously available. As it stands, the Gurren Lagann DVD set that Bandai put out is even still in stock though RightStuf - Aniplex's main outlet - for $50, and that was the third release of the show. Forgetting the $550 for the BDs for a second, the $140 for the DVDs really doesn't make much sense either.

Anyway, technically you actually get more for your $550 for the Gurren Lagann set, but it's an awful lot to charge for a single purchase. I can't help but think that they'd have done better to cut the release in two.

Legend of the Galactic Heroes - 28: Portraits

~ We need to pin Yang Wenli down for a while, away from Iserlohn. ~

Bro's forever!
This episode was a bit of a two-parter. Made it a bit hard to pick a key phrase.
The first half focused on Mittermeyer and von Reuental, the eternal High Admiral bro's and the new top dogs of the Imperial military hierarchy. I like how different the two are in their approach to personal relationships. Mittermeyer, the handsome dedicated husband, and Reuental, the ruthless casanova.
There were also some smaller portraits of a couple of other of Admirals.
The second part involved Phezzan's plan to 'help' Premier Reinhard in establing a Neues Reich, spanning the entire galaxy. I'm actually pretty excited to see if it's gonna succeed! Poor Yang can't catch a break.

SAO's main fault was not that it panders, but that it is just awful. I don't mind pandering shows. I like some pandering shows. But they gotta do it right.

That price is lol.
Gurenn Lagann is pretty awesome but I don't like it THAT much.
I did buy the Fate Zero blurays, but that was more worthy of this kind of pricing.
Of course Aniplex will sell out of this and move on to something else.

I don't get the draw of Oreimo. I only watched the first two episodes and I understand why it would be popular to Otakus and such, but I hate anime fans bitching about how their anime is the best, I get enough of that here and adding incest to that doesn't help. I think Oreimo is actually an indicator of who the true Otakus are. Seems like I'm a man surrounded by Otakus.

Chihayafuru 2 12:
Wow, that flashback with
the photography nerds all speaking and unison and Hanano's shock at them going in a flashback
was absolutely hilarious. This episode also had some really good comedy moments with the Akashi team's coach, who was gold.

Megumu is more than a match for Chihaya right now, but
it was nice to see her start to strike at her at the end. Hopefully Chihaya can shut up everyone who is overlooking Mizusawa.
This episode was, as Chihayafuru almost always is, very refreshing to watch. There were a lot of good scenes, both the comedy moments and the dramatic. The use of flashbacks and music in the final scene of the episode was executed perfectly. It was a great scene to end on.

Its not the best anime, it just has her in it.

And so, after much fussing, Mamoru goes up a level and gains the ability to sense Primevals, begging the question of Kaidou's necessity to the plot once more.

Sounds like you need to get a waifu and stop worrying so much!

Darker than Black 11-12

Hei is slowly but steadily becoming a more developed character, and not just a cool and brooding main character. His non-contractor personality that I've been thinking was sort of an act to coerce with "the outside world" now feels very genuine as he interacts with other characters. I really want to delve into his backstory, but apparently next episode is about Yin, who I'm also curious about because she's adorable.
