What's with Japan and UK motorcycles? Why specifically UK motorcycles? Or should the question be: What's with middleaged male Japanese game developers and UK motorcycles...?
By now I feel that even if he has another name it will probably be in the lines of Nimbus or Frost. Can't wait for Lightning Docomo.lostxii said:That's weird, i thought Snow was supposed to be his code-name. or maybe that whole thing is his code-name

I heard on 2ch the FNC games and KH had a couple pages worth of stuff individually.
Of all the games in the "Fabula Nova Crystallis" series, Final Fantasy Agito XIII may be the one with the least hype surrounding it. That may be misguided on the part of gamers, though, because as the latest gameplay update shows, this PSP spiritual followup to Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII has killer visuals, killer gameplay, and some killer (and fully controllable) summons.
The heroes of Agito are all trainees at a magic academy, each with his or her own choice of weapons physical and magical. You pick a group of three and build them up RPG-style, either playing by your lonesome or in online co-op, but the big story with this update is the summon system. Every character has the ability to cast summons in Agito, and you'll be directly controlling the creature you summon right on the battlefield. Lots of the traditional FF summons will be appearing in Agito -- screens revealed this week show Odin dismounting his horse Sleipnir and kicking ass with his sword in ways that would look rather painful if this were real life.
Agito XIII is due out 2009 worldwide.

Was this said anywhere in the scans? Or is 1up just getting ahead of themselves.

The names of the two were revealed at the Tokyo Game Show to be Noctis Lucis Caelum and Stella Nox Fleuret. Stella is described by the magazine as a princess in the Fleuret family.
Wondering what the characters' names mean? Typical for the FNC series, the two names are Latin. The three parts of the hero's name mean "Night, Light, and Sky." The three parts of the heroine's name mean "Star, Darkness, and Sword." Darkness is also the meaning of Stella's country's name.
Director and character designer Tetsuya Nomura shared with the magazine a few additional details on the characters. Nomura feels that the trailer footage (which you probably haven't seen, unless you made it out to the Tokyo Game Show) tells us a lot about the personalities of the two characters. Stella, for instance, is shown speaking politely to Noctis and without any apparent reserve. This is a reflection of her strong upbringing. In contrast, Noctis appears to be running away, and won't even make eye contact. It may appear that Noctis is cold and unsocial, but he's actually just shy, and he hides his shyness by putting on a veil of coolness.
Regarding Noctis, Nomura also notes that he may say one thing, but by watching him closely, you'll get the feeling that there's something different about him. His friends are often able to see through the cover, though.

True, but I think Noctis will be as well, Nomura isn't going to call him emo, I think Squall was just meant to appear shy and complicated, as appose to emo. It's just much harder to convey those characteristics.Paracelsus said:Only that Squall was emo, not shy.
For the rest I agree.

Royalty and people with status tend to have names like that, I think it fits considering the setting. Notice how Vaan and Penelo don't even have last names.Kazenone said:Put them all together and they sound pretentious and I can already feel me hating the character. FFXII was subject to this too, Ashelia B'nargin Dalmasca and Basch fon Ronsenburg as examples.
Alaluef said:Night, light, sky, star, darkness, sword, lol. At least they sound cool in latim.
I don't have a problem with names having meanings (it's the opposite actually), but as I said before naming every character in a game with random words that fit a particular theme sound like someone just got ahold of a dictionary with foreign words instead of a parent from that world giving a well thought name to a newborn. FFXII did it pretty well imo.-Kh- said:Light, sky and star are used in spanish as names too. They don't sound cool, but they can be cute.
