Square Enix's E3 2013 Booth Lineup Revealed!

Wuh? TLG was announced way back in 2009.

well the guy i was quoting says the e3insider wasn't supposed to leak unannounced games (we're talking about versus/xv)
i think he means no announcement about release/new info/whatever so i brought up tlg, which did come up on the site

We don't really know what's behind that, honestly, but that's one of a few odd listings on the site at the moment. For all we know, they could just remove the TLG listing along when word gets out about it being on the site.

But it'd be pretty odd to see Versus in this lineup when they've tried to keep things hush-hush about the game for the last few years.

I'm happy with at least two of those titles on the list. X / X-2 HD and XIV ARR.

It'd be awesome if at Sony's press conference, along side FFXV they show off Type-1... featuring Izana (a prequel to Type-0, of course) :P

So if we want to be realistic about it, the only games they are showing that the general gaming populace hasn't played before are the new Thief & Lightning Returns.

Hyperbole and such, but when people slash at Nintendo for releasing the same games over and over again they should really look over on the other side of the fence to see what everyone else is doing.

With both remastered games, there's content (dunno about FFX/X-2 for sure though) that has never been released outside of Japan (or European regions) which is the main draw for anyone buying them. FFXIV:ARR is also not the same game that FFXIV was.

Well said

Kingdom Hearts 3 for mobile. I'm calling it.

One of the worst predictions ever. The biggest reason why KH HD ReMixes are happening is because they are bringing the franchise back to consoles because the next new release in line will be Kingdom Hearts III. For consoles.

It's no secret at this point that XIV 2.0: A Realm Reborn has taken a massive toll on the development of new games (especially console ones). Luckily, XIV 2.0 is near done (should probably go gold within the next 1-1,5 months), so that will stop sucking most of their resources, that will hopefully lead to them getting on track with other new console level developments.

Besides, these HD Remasters are something a lot of people have been asking for a long time, especially Kingdom Hearts, which has been spread thin on different handhelds and only the most hardcore of the hardcore KH fans have played all of them.

The target is people who heard FF14 was terrible and wouldn't give it second look on the shelves or on news sites because of that.

This plan will also fail and keeping a tainted name like FF 14 was a bad idea if they really wanted to start fresh. FF Online would have worked better.

Versus isn't unannounced though.

It's no longer going by that name, apparently. Whatever it ends up being, I just hope it shows up somehow. Other than The Last Guardian and Warrior's Lair, not many games in the lists they have on that site are games which have had no information whatsoever in the last few months/years.

Given that SE themselves have been pretty silent about Versus other than the usual "Please be excited"/"It's coming soon"-y responses, I doubt it would ever appear in a list like this.

Am I the only one who has little to no interest in Squenix anymore?

If it weren't for their Agni's demo and their power to remake old Final Fantasy's/Dragon Quest, they would have completely fallen off the radar to me.

For once a publisher posts its line-up and... I'm going to buy all those titles when out.

I love Square Enix and in particular the Square Enix of this year.

These games are more than enough for me to cover all my gaming needs for the next 12 months, but S-E surely will not stop here and have tons of stuff to announce at E3's conferences. Bring it on!

I pretty much don't care about anything modern Square has to offer except for KH 1.5 and Versus. I know what you mean. The mighty have indeed fallen.

Now that you mention it, I'm getting all of them except Deus Ex, and I already own that on PS3 and PC. Not a bad line up. Compare that to Valve people, or Blizzard. Even in a slow year, it's 5 titles: including a massive MMO. And Nintendo probably has another 2 of their games.

If they're really smart, they'll show XIV: ARR at the Sony conference and announce that it's coming to PS4. They could even say that if people buy it for PS3, they get a free PS4 download of the game so people would start in August. The game is gorgeous and would look great during Sony's lineup.

I like this post. :v

Port of an existing game
Remake of a failed existing game
Sequel to a sequel of a sequel
Port of an existing game
Port of an existing game
Sequel but it's been a long time since a Thief game was out

Dunno what I expected though

They haven't fallen, they've just stumbled momentarily (that is, they screwed up two big FF games and are still picking up the pieces and trying to rectify the situation). They've still got a shitton of talent left, they've just been screwing around with XIV 2.0 & the Lightning saga. Those will be over this year (as far as requiring massive development resources goes) and hopefully they'll let people like Ito be in charge of bigger games' development again. i'd almost bet on it that people will be positively surprised by the quality of their output (as far as new IPs/sequels go) within the next few years.

Beautiful. I love it.

Nah, I haven't seen it. But I thought that Nintendo had announced they wouldn't be attending E3.

They have a huge section. I think they're just not doing a big press conference event. They want people to get their hands on games and actually play them, so I think they have a lot of booths, in addition to Nintendo Direct and the Best Buy stuff.

There's also Bravely Default under Nintendo's booth. Square Enix is really rocking the E3, probably is going to have the best E3 line up for this year.

My guess is that Versus is not there because it's being announced as a PS4 title and probably with a new name as the rumors suggested. Them announcing they'll have A FF to showcase for the PS4 further solidifies this.

They have more than just Versus in the works. But there's no reason to expect Versus or any other unannounced game in this list. I actually don't think Versus has been official announced for a Western release at all.
