For me, remakes, or reimaginations, reboots, or sequels pretending to be remakes, etc. are their own thing, a whole different experiences that cover already familiar material, and I don't consider that as "touching, or ruining the original".Well, after the FF7 "Remake", I don't know if I want Square to touch any older FF anymore.
FF9 is one of my most favorite games ever, but frankly, I was never the kind of a person that considered it as some perfect, immaculate, and untouchable thing that no one should ever try making a modern version.
I don't expect of any remake to be as good, or to surpass the original - I just want them to be enjoyable, and to let me experience the familiar old game in a different, modern way.
