Aw yiss, mah Freelancer.
Oh god, seamless KB&M usage! Nextgen feature!
Yeah. Buggy time! Awesome. AWESOME.
(why am I so excited about this?)
of course he is. Why wouldn't he.
Damn it looks gooooooooooood.
I wanna see a bigger ship than the Aurora, though. CONSTELLATION HANGAR COME OOON
You and me both. You and me both.
I wonder If I should trade in my 325a for a a civilian Hornet.... hmm...
Can't wait to see my Connie in my hangar come Thursday. Waiting for my Avenger and M50 should tide me over till the dogfighting alpha
One question: the camera looked kinda wonky when getting into the cockpit, or even walking around inside the freelancer.
I couldn't understand much of what Roberts was saying, but did he mention anything about the first-person camera not being ready for sitting down in your chair or something?
I want the whole experience firsthand when I finally get to sit in my Constellation captain's chair
Thinking of pledging $140 but I don't know if I should for Colonel or Freelancer.
If you are not sure then you could also go for a Pirate Pack, which comes with a pretty zippy and customizable ship (the Cutlass) that also has a decent cargo hold and comes with a tractor beam and docking collar for boarding other bigger ships. Only drawback is that it's probably a bit weak in the armor department and that NPC authorities are more prone to sift through your cargo, so smuggling is a bit of a bad idea.
I probably should have added that, yeah. Sorry. Had forgotten that they took the pirate pack off the store for lesser mortals.Just to clarify one point... the pirate pack is only available to original backers and won't be visible to anyone else.
He's probably best off finding an original backer to help out anyway. The packs that will cost him $140 will cost an original backer $125 I think.
Official infoI've got another question. What's the hangar everyone is talking about? Will I have access to that as well?
I think I'm ready to jump in, but I'm not sure which package to get. You'll eventually be able to earn the ships in the bigger packages in-game, right?

That's it, after months and months of lurking the thread you hyped me. I swore I wasn't going to pledge to any crowdfunding project until I played those I have already backed but you pushed me in. Cunts.
The smallest pledge to begin with. I've seen what's happened to lots of you guys and I don't want to start backing 65$ to end up with a 250$ pledge.
It'd be cool if I could spend a bit of in-game money and turn it into a 325A, since they seem to have the same hardpoints.
With the sole exception of the 350R all 300 series ships can be converted into each other, as far as I know. They share the same hull setup. The 350R has the odd twin engine setup, meaning the hull is fundamentally different from its brethren, making conversion impossible. It must be bought in-game or out-of-game (backers only).I've had the $65 digital bounty hunter thing for a while now but I'm curious to what degree a 300i will be customizable. So, to back this game, what's the best way to do it for the smallest amount? Simply buying the 24 Scout pack or is there somewhere else I should look at?

Buy the 32 pack, with Alpha and Beta acces. Otherwise you have to wait more than a year to be able to play anything.

Chris Roberts said that there is only going to be one currency in the game. You will be able to purchase everything with it. To finance servers/patches etc. you will be able to buy a certain amount of ingame cash every month with real money. The 1,000 UEC is an in-game currency purchased with real money?
If so, can I get ships without paying real money?
The 5,000 credits are yours to keep, a little reward for current backers only. When we launch the hangar you will have access to buy some in-game items to play around with. You'll do this through the current website, only you'll use credits instead of dollars.
In addition to the 5,000 credits we're giving you you will also have access to any reward credits you received early in the campaign... I believe some users may end up with as many as 8,000 or 10,000 credits total. You will not have access to break the credits that come with packages out yet, because you need credits with your ship to start the game itself.

But well, that's obviously still subject to change.
