Star Citizen player reports CIG is making him sign an NDA before getting a refund

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?

We’ve chronicled the weird steps players have needed to take to get refunds from Star Citizen numerous times before, but now it looks like there’s a fresh wrinkle added to the already wrinkled bedsheets of the process if a Redditor’s account is to be believed.

According to FeralSquirrels, he received a response to his letter requesting a refund roughly a month ago that appeared to make similar remarks as another concession by CIG last July. What’s different this time around, though, is the fact that he is being told he has to sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) in order to receive his refund – a reveal that caught many gamers by surprise – along with choosing whether to keep his user status or be removed from the game entirely.

When seeking advice from other Redditors (as well as planning on getting a free legal consultation on the matter), some replies pointed out that using an NDA before receiving a refund may be against UK law and EU law. Further, a look through the refunds FAQ and its terms of service don’t mention an NDA requirement.

FeralSquirrels did point out that he isn’t signing anything before seeking counsel and that he has until November 8th to respond to CIG, so it’s possible that news of this added obstacle may unfurl further in the next few days.

I paid good money for this Dynex!
I'm pretty sure this is illegal depending on where you are (as it calls out in regards to UK and EU law), so that's interesting.

How much is he trying to refund? I know this game can cost anywhere from the cost of a game to the cost of a car depending what you "purchased"
