So I haven't played this in a long long while. Is it really good for co-op through missions, and/or does the Prometheus ship type now separate like that Voyager episode?
Most missions work for co-op, only the Temporal Ambassador episode (sequel to Yesterday's Enterprise) is solo only.

And yes, the Prometheus now has a MVAM version that can be bought.

Okay, so I broke my CPU broke in a botched cleaning cock-up (seriously feeling like an idiot right now for it) so I'll probably not be on much this week and if I am it'll be on the missus' laptop which will just about work for running DOFF assignments and checking the Exchange.

Oh well; at least the replacement CPU I've ordered is a little bit faster.

I started my first Romulan character recently. Really enjoying the storyline so far. I missed doing all the LoR stuff on my main, so I need to get down to that soon as well.

Looks like they're revamping the Federation tutorial now for Season 8 later this year. People responded pretty positively to the 'named BOFF' approach (e.g. Tovan Khev for Romulans) and they're putting more of them.

I have to say I'm quite looking forward to the next release.

The Romulan Vagrant DOFF Packs are dropping Jem'hadar Attack Ships now, so if you happened to be needing DOFFs, it might be worth looking into. Also periodically check the exchange for cheap JHASes to save for later.

Anyone have opinions on which endgame reputation Item set to get? I got the Omega set with the cutting beam, plasma launcher and universal console. I'm thinking about the MK2 Reman shield set, but I welcome second opinions

I'm a big fan of the Romulan weapon set with the rapid plasma launcher and the zero point console that adds critical chance. I quite like the Adapted Maco (aka the Honour Guard) set as well.

Can someone add me to the list of gaf players? I'm gonna be doing my best to get back into the game on a regular basis. It's either Zilara@Saloneus or Zilara@Salonius. I can't remember which exactly. My ship is pretty much all Purple mark XII stuffs and whatnot. Tac Escort of course.

Tried inviting you but it says that Zilara@Salonius is already in a fleet?

I take back what I said about Romulans being lame...in the game that is. On the TV shows, they're still lame. :p

But 16 levels in, the romulan story line is well put together, and holy crap I don't remember leveling being anywhere near this fast as Leveling my federation character was. But then again, I leveled that one when the game first came out. Those days were horrid in comparison.

Edit: Even the first new ship available at level 10 is friggin awesome looking.

Sometimes I wish I had a PvP class, I've spent the last half an hour in Ker'rat being followed by a Rom-Klingon player who couldn't do enough damage to get past my shields, didn't stop him of course, every couple of seconds he would uncloak, shoot, then cloak again with an occasional power thrown in there.

Never enough to do anything though, so it was like having a fly in the room that wouldn't go away, I would have just killed him but he would uncloak and cloak so quickly and for some reason the game never feels like aiming at him unless I click on him myself, I assume that it is the enhanced battle cloak, it wasn't as much annoying as I thought I was going to die of boredom, lol.

So they're rerunning the Crystalline Entity special event for the next three weeks. It's similar to the last one in that every time you run Crystalline Catastrophe regular or elite, you get a crystal shard that you can use for an event reputation project. When you've contributed 14, you get the big reward of 50,000 dilithium, 500 fleet marks, 250 marks of your choice, and a very rare gravimetric doff named in homage of a certain CE-killing old lady from TNG. You still also get the standard rewards for completing the mission, those being 40/60 (standard/elite) marks of your choice, or 50/80 during bonus time, plus 5 fleet marks, 480 dilithium, and a random piece of space equipment.

The mission is changed up a little, and the Tholians will throw a ridiculous amount of Mirror Universe ships around the map, but it's nothing outrageous, and on normal it can still be completed in under 8 minutes with a half-competent PUG.

The fleet is in desperate need of resources, so if you can just run the event once on each of your alts each day 14 times, that would be a huge infusion of materiel in the end.

Ack! Going to be out of town for a week starting Saturday. Looks like I'll be able to just squeeze this in before it ends then, better get started.

So I bought the T5 Ar'Kif for 2,000 Zen. Thank god for running the CE event on 5 characters - should be back to my 100k Dilithium/character buffer in no time (and contributing more than just FMs and DOFFs to the fleet).

I REALLY hope the price of zen goes back down to the 120's because I just sold over 1300 for 135 a piece on the exchange.

I have a buffer though. If it goes back up into the 140's, I'll buy what I can back. Minimal loss, but if the price of zen goes back down due to hopeful market flooding, that would be most fortunate.

Is the GAF fleet open to new members? I'm a lifer who's back for a while and running STFs and doing Nukara rep on my Fed Engineer.

*Edit*

Nozori Lux@Mightyflub if anyone can drop me an invite.

Currently flying god's own ship the Avenger. USS Admiral Neelix

I saw those yesterday. They look ace.

I'm wanting to buy a Fleet avenger to replace my c-store one. I know I can buy a fleet module from the Zen store but how to I earn the fleet provisioning point I need? Is there somewhere I can buy them on the starbase?

You should be able to buy it now - I've promoted you based on your contributions to projects so you have access to fleet provisions. Enjoy!

How do they work then? They're in the Fleet bank I'm guessing so how does the Fleet earn them?

There are fleet projects we can run which grant a number of them on completion. If we run out of one you need let us know and we'll see about scheduling it in.

They should make an announcement whenever there's a successful Cure Found elite. 98% of the times I do that particular one, it ends in massive aggravation because there is always one person who does it wrong, and everything goes to shit. It's a rarity for me to see it completed on elite.

In order of difficulty (high to low):

Space
  • Hive: Onslaught
  • The Cure: Found
  • Khitomer: Vortex
  • Infected: The Conduit

Ground
  • The Cure: Applied
  • Hive: Into The Hive
  • Infected: Manus
  • Khitomer: In Stasis

At least, last time I tried The Cure: Applied it was very difficult. I've only completed it once and that was due to a glitch...

I had a couple of goes at The Cure Applied ages ago. That's the one on the planet with all the force fields and PUG unfriendly co-operation required isn't it? They really need to redesign those ground ones. Almost nobody does them

It's never the force fields that screw me over, it's the boss at the end.

Started playing almost as a joke. REALLY enjoy the game, hit 50 with my FedRom in record time. Still figuring out the endgame mechanics and how to gear. My character and account name are weird, but I'll apply to GAFleet when I next log on (just saw this thread).

I just did my first elite STF. Cure found in a PUG. A surprisingly pleasant experience :)

It's amazing how bad people are at games. I keep getting groups that let the freaking probes in the vortex missions go through the portal. It's not freaking hard.

I'm in a shitty tier 4 cruiser with mostly crap gear and can kill 3 probes before they reach the conduit without help.

Today I watched 4 team-mates fail to stop 2 probes from making it to the gate. Two of them flew away to attack something else. The last two were flying around barely doing anything at all to the probes.

I've had a few bad runs like that too. What's worse is when nobody at all bothers with the probes on one side and the first you notice is the optional failing and then you have to drop what you're doing and speed over there.

I had one group where I ended up having to do probes on both sides. I also did an Azure Nebula Rescue yesterday where one guy just sat at spawn apparently AFK. Expect he'd always roll on loot drops. We only got 12 marks on that one too. Shocking run.

If anything when doing Elites the optional on Conduit is probably harder since if you don't have the DPS or people don't realise they need to ignore the nanite spheres and focus on the transformers you're not going to get the sides down in time. At least with Khitomer the bulk of it is someone remembering to shoot a few probes every now and again :)

I wish the ground stuff was less horrible though.

Felt good to finally get to spend those marks.

I just read the dev blog on the upcoming space adventure zone and oh how I've waited for this. It's got a bit of a Rikti War Zone from City of Heroes vibe to boot.

Shame we don't have a surefire way to recruit a legit super rich person to buy zen en mass, and then sell it all for dilithium. That would be cool...as long as one can still acquire fleet credits after the starbase is maxed out in all areas.
