Remaster of what game exactly? The 1999 release?
Bomba(d) confirmed.
Also on PC and SwitchRacer was already re-released on ps4.
Racer was already re-released on ps4.
This better be a remake.
Basically this should look like the movie at this point.
I remember sitting in the theater thinking to myself "Why the fuck is this pod race more than one lap? It is eating screen time and kinda boring, move on."
They should also update the audio to the full movie level in both quality and nuance. They already re-released Star Wars Racer for modern platforms a couple of years ago. Does this mean they're gonna do some sort of graphical update? Or maybe they're gonna re-release this next:

If it's the latter then it's a big "meh" from me because you can already play both of these games on PS5, so these news are most likely about releasing a version of Racer Revenge for Xbox and Switch.
Although I'm gonna quietly hope that they're actually remaking the original Racer with modern graphics. That would be so dope...
That is like picking corn out of your own shit. The only good part of the whole movie (the lightsaber battle) came almost immediately after they dragged out 3 laps of some dumb race that wasn't very interesting from a visual or plot perspective. Had it been shorter I would have been totally fine with it.Its the best part of the whole movie. Fuck is wrong witchu
If they rework it to Look as good as the actual movie. Not impossible for new Gen.Racer and Racers Revenge are currently available as is. What is the point of this.
There was the arcade game, which I'm not sure how much it shares in common with what was on ConsoleAre there any other Star Wars racing games? I'm only aware of the N64/DC podracing title which I assume they are referring to. It got put on Switch and probably elsewhere too so not a big surprise it's in the running for a remake/remaster.
So, there was a very obscure Star Wars Racer arcade game made for the beefy and barely used Sega Hikaru board. The Hikaru was the last of Sega's powerful custom arcade boards, if memory serves me right.
I'd vomit faster than lightPodracing in VR would be fun as hell.
Good point. I remember seeing the arcade game and assuming it ran on the same hardware as SW Trilogy Arcade but never tried it.There was the arcade game, which I'm not sure how much it shares in common with what was on Console
I'm pretty sure it was better than the Naomi 2 since Sega Retro says the Hikaru was cost-prohibitive and this led to its discontinuation in favor of the cheaper Naomi 2.I thought the last one was the Model 3.
Was the Hikaru that powerful in 1999? Was it better than Naomi 2?
Oh I mean, an actual remake I'm all for. Destruction physics, pods tearing apart etc.If they rework it to Look as good as the actual movie. Not impossible for new Gen.
