How do you know it isn't cracked in half (or thirds, or quarters), and that's just the back half of it? It's not like the frame shows an entire super-star destroyer. Just the Falcon flying up it's asshole.

It's not hard sci-fi so I guess "it looks cool" is the guiding principle. It worked for Battlestar Galactica.

Galactica was also built like a tank.

just looked up some pictures of the Executor class. I think the one in the trailer is actually something in the middle and not actually as big. (this one seems to have 9 engines, the executor class has 13)

Planet Jukku is a junkyard, as the description of one of the characters implies. Maybe the Rebellion used it to scuttle Imperial hardware over the years, since it would be of no use (no man power, possible threat of insurgents using them, etc)

Fuck, I'm fully reeled in back into Star Wars.

Don't they crash-land a Separatist cruiser on Coruscant in Episode 3? I don't think crashed Star Destroyers being relatively intact is totally beyond the pale for this series.

Star Wars physics are literally based on WW2 fighter plane videos, so adding realistic properties to them would seem really out of place. You have ships banking and making sounds, needing to have their engines constantly on to move forward during spaceflight, and of course sound; a literal big flying battleship not disintegrating as it falls through the atmosphere fits right in.

Why not just do something new looking, or just have ti be Tatooine.

It is a little different looking. And making it Tatooine just opens the film up to criticism that "for being a backwater town where nothing happens a whole SHITLOAD of stuff seems to always happen on Tatooine."

So it's a different planet that's sandy and fucked up.

Man, this trailer was so good and I've watched it countless times. Even though it brought a tear to my eye to see Han and Chewie again, I can't help thinking to myself, "do I really want to see a 70-year-old Han Solo?"

There are only so many climates - grassland, forest, desert, glacier, aquatic, swamp, etc. Bound to be planets around the SW galaxy that have similar landscapes to one another.

They should take a page from Mario and mix in food themed worlds. I'd be down for Choco-world and Donut Planet.

I'd much rather it were the site of a massive battle.

i really tried to stop myself from watching SW7 trailers/teaser...i couldn't resist...everyone talking about it. Now i feel i seen too much. I wish i saw that Star Destroyer scene in the theater :(

this is my last time watching any trailers, teasers, promotional images etc. til December 25th. I'm going to try my best to stay off this shit.

What I hate most is how the shot of Han and Chewie is being used as the thumbnail and promotional image to push people to view the trailer... That was the best surprise!

With as saturated as it will become in the coming months, may god have mercy on your soul. It's going to be a rough half year.
