The Batman vs Superman trailer? Because I'd agree there.

No, that was fine and it could be enjoyable. I liked the tone. But uh, I think it's safe to say that this teaser doesn't need to be defended against anything. I can't stand "ours is better than theirs" shit, even if it's true. Both can be good.

Exactly. It was the Marvel panel, they were going to poke DC. Why wouldn't they?

"You guys are the best fans. You're not just fans. You're family. You're the best of all fandoms that have ever been. Those other things? They don't hold a candle to this thing, this thing that you love, and we love you, because you love us, and not this one thing. Am I right?"

I read this in Vin Diesel's Furious 7 voice.

I agree. ep7 is hype but it shouldn't be bolstered at the expense of something. fanboys gunna fanboy though. Still marvel/disney will see low interest in the DC film as a victory. SW in some part has helped to make the Batman vs Superman films trailer less impactful.

I hate that it has to be a popularity game. They're movies. Get hype and go watch them. When I think about "this trailer beat this other trailer on the internet" I mean that's some real cringeworthy shit.

At the end of the day it's business and this is the type of shit that a large part of their audience eats up.

Especially at a convention setting.

One question about Vaders helmet, didn't Luke take it off at the end of the third movie on board the Death Star 2 that was about to explode? How on earth could it survive?

Luke pulled Vader from the death star and proceeded to cremate him on Endor. Vader is wearing it in the final scenes of the movie.

No, he took it with him:

And presumably Kylo Ren will travel there to dig his remains up. Which is probably what we saw in the first teaser when he's stomping through the snowy forest.

It's really not outside of this internet or this forum for any matter. Disney owns them both so it doesn't matter who makes the most money - where getting two enjoyable films

Will people who have read spoilers kindly make another fucking thread? Jesus fuck.

What spoiler? You see Kylo in a forest in the first teaser, Vader's mask/skull in the second.

I didn't figure the snowy forest was Endor, but I guess that could make sense. Though who he is drawing his lightsaber against? Ewok massacre incoming?

I haven't read anything. It is a guess based only on what we've seen.

For example: You know Vader gets cremated on Endor, a sith is stomping through a snowy forest in the first teaser, and then in the 2nd teaser you see Vader's charred skull and mask.

Yes I can see how you made the jump from shot of the back of some Sith in Snowy forest to Kylo Ren going to retrieve Vader's mask.

This is what you're going with? Seriously? What, it can't snow on Endor because sci-fi planets are only allowed to have one kind of weather? It's bad enough that they usually only have one biome planetwide.
And fiery broadswords are hot this season, I guess.

I've heard so many people say "but he left that on the Death Star, how'd it survive?" over the last couple days it isn't even funny.

Man, I think I have a new man crush. Oscar Issac looks fantastic in the flick and I think I'm going to love his character. I need to check out some of his other work.

I'm not saying he is unattractive, but you can barely see oscars face in it. I have seen inside lleyellan Davis, that is a good film. It also had the weird looking guy who is playing the bad guy in this Star Wars film, tall lanky fella.

That's so incredibly sad because that entire scene is so beautiful. That shot of Luke from behind standing in front of the pyre that marks the end of Darth Vader is one of the best from Jedi. Would have hoped that stuck with more people.

No way he picked up the helmet but no doubt it was included on the bonfire to make it clearer it was darth vader burning to the audience.

Standard Film in-continuity to make the scene clearer to the audience. And also look better, make it a more iconic looking scene.

Hasnt been mentioned but my favourite part of the trailer was actually this bit

Im not even sure why, maybe it was the music hitting a crescendo, or that it genuinely looks real and practical, it just looks star wars to me.

Yes, the practical aspect jumped out at me. That last scene with the tie fighter pilot firing at the Falcon? Practical actor in a real suit and helmet.

Why Lucas decided to use CGI clonetroopers and clonetrooper fighter pilots in the prequels is beyond me. Why is that even necessary?

Im not sure how I feel about the zoom in camera during the falcon chase, I dont remember that ever happening in the OT, it feels like a strange new addition which is out of keeping with what the films have established. I remember it happening a few times in the Star Trek films aswell, JJ seems to enjoy the style.

It happened a couple of times in the Battle of Genosis.

Damn that CGI looks old. Been a while since I've seen it.

Its a strange effect, it seems to exist to highlight the authenticity of the scene "This is CGI but look how real it is because we can zoom in and show more detail" but really its jarring to me personally, it doesnt add any effects that heighten the intensity of the battle.

Shaky cam when used right I can understand because it has this real "This isnt planned, this has elements of randomness to it"

The only film that pulled off that CGI-zoom effect was Avatar, which only used the effect three or four times in the whole film.
