That DaS vibe clashes with the SciFi setting, of course
Probably I felt that because of this teaser framing, taken out of context
Well the framing is very video game for sure, you can almost imagine the camera pitching a little and you being able to run around slicing trees, but I'm not sure the imagery is really from any specific source.
I've never really considered it, but perhaps, a 'video game-ification' of action films is just related to that sense of viewer placement within the scene. Although Star Wars has always done this. People talk about EP3 and jumping the platforms, etc. But even the first film includes that first person perspective shot of flying into the trench of the Death Star. It's now evocative of a game, because you're not in the perspective of either the character, or a camera following him, you're the nose of a ship, which makes no real sense, but is common in games, but obviously it predates gaming.
It's the snake eating it's own tail at this point. Star Wars is arguably
the biggest influence on gaming of any piece of media. Everything is tied up in referencing and alluding to its own inspirations, and influencing and impacting other things in the process.
That shot could be an allusion to the first DS2 trailer, who knows, I doubt it personally, but I wouldn't be shocked. Incidentally, Abrams is working with Valve on their stuff being adapted for film, and one of their three writers is a colossal Souls fan... Anything is possible.
