but ever so delicious
I knew i should have merged my WoW account with a b.net account.

Fuck this game is so good looking. The art style, look and feel of it all just blows me away.

Recently had the time to sit down and watch the 3rd battle report. Very nice map, reminds me of a custom 6 player map a friend made back in the old days that we used to flog around with 3v3 endlessly.

So what does one need to do to qualify for beta?

I guess been a US or canadian resident is a good starting point :(

You have to have a battle net account with at least one game attached, then you have to opt in to the beta, and then submit your system specs.

if i remember correctly, you're an australian like me. don't despair, we're the one of the first three countries that the beta will begin with.

http://starcraft2.com/beta-faq.xml

When does the StarCraft II beta test start?

We don’t have an exact start date to share at this time, but note that when it does begin, we will be adding additional regions to the beta test in phases. North America, Australia, and New Zealand will be the first regions to begin beta testing, and other regions will follow afterward in phases. We will have more information to share about all of these phases in the future.

The reason for setting up the beta in regional phases is that it takes time to set up and configure our testing infrastructure in each area. Bringing up one region at a time makes the overall testing process for StarCraft II and Battle.net more efficient from a development perspective, making the test more effective, and allowing us to complete the game more quickly than if we attempted to start the beta test in all regions at the same time. We will share more information about the start dates for the beta in different regions at a later date.

Wow! Battle report three was awesome, so much back and forth I had no idea who was going to win.

Aye, freaky how much control they have over their units, too bad I won't ever be able to play like that :(, good thing my mates probably won't either :D.

Yeah, for me playing with friends is the only way multiplayer is fun in strategy games.

Is it wrong that I almost don't want to get this because I know I'd be terrible playing it? I couldn't handle the micro for sure.

Awesome. Just went through the proper procedures. Even merged my WoW account. Although for some reason they've banned or held my WoW account, which has been inactive for a couple years now. Oh well, don't care.

Don't judge the game off of battle reports. SC1 wasn't micro intensive at all.

You will want to play it for the awesome campaign and endless amount of custom maps made with the new map maker!
There's also the option of playing with people you know or scrubs like me :).

The playing field should be leveled due to the changes from the original, such as new abilities and multi-building selection. Although, some of the pro/semi-pro players outside of Korea are planning on playing.

I have opted in for the Beta, all my Blizzard games are registered (except the older key-less ones like D1 and WC2). Now to wait for the European phase and pray I get picked.

Does everyone have the SC2 beta profile on the kr.battle.net or should I start furiously masturbating?

wut? I guess if you want to be an F- ICCup player it wasn't micro intensive...

I'm amongst those who can only gasp at the battle reports :p This will be priceless on lan with mates, but no way I'll have any business playing this on battle.net

Why has Europe got a delayed beta :(

If i don't get in i will be bitterly dissapointed!

Because they want you to buy a US wow account, all the expansions and then create a new battlenet account with that said bought US wow account so you can have a CHANCE to get into the US beta of StarCraft 2.

Brilliant marketing now, isn't it? :D

some people might actually be crazy enough to do that

To clarify for those who don't understand exaggeration, ICCup only has ranks from D- through A+. Everyone starts at D, and it's a ladder system with points, you gain more beating people higher than you, you lose more losing to people lower than you. D- is below 750 points, D is 1000-1999, D+ is 2000-2999, C- is 3000-3999, etc. Your average Battle.net player will fall in the D- to D+ range.

You can stay at D, possibly even edge up to D+ with just strong macro alone. At this level, everyone thinks they need to focus on micro, and has awful macro. The only matchup where micro matters at this level is Zerg vs Zerg.
