Improved engine optimisation ever heard of that? and more graphics options is a fail? Oh that's only if it's Xbox related right? What happened to their creative decision? Another Fail!

They are downgrading number of crowds, their lighting engine and other level of detail which devs poured almost 8 years authoring. No one wants to put in all that effort only to have half the players turn all of that off for 60 fps.
The graphics in this game are so good. The shot of the rover driving in the desert looks gorgeous. Great to see third persopn dialogue scenes. Again, so much detail packed in every scene.
Looks like for performance mode they are downgrading the resolution, lighting, crowd and other level of details. Thats a shame but expected. 60 fps comes at a cost and simply downgrading the resolution in a game like this was never going to be enough.
It's a joke . . . that creative decision excuse was BS from the start.Improved engine optimisation ever heard of that? and more graphics options is a fail? Oh that's only if it's Xbox related right?
yep. its realtime Global Illumination so basically Software Lumen from UE5. I love the lighting in this game.If the 40hz mode retains everything from the normal 30hz Quality mode, that's probably gonna be my go-to.
They have an incredible lighting engine here, probably one of the best ones for a non-ray-traced game.

You have know idea the improvements that have been under the hood since release, so what was once true may not be the case now. It's a joke . . . that creative decision excuse was BS from the start.
It was obviously a technical reason, what they meant was they didn't want to compromise the visuals in order to achieve a higher framerate. Why is that BS? They did not say it wasn't possible. They said it was their choice. I think it was stupid decision, but at least they are not pretending there was some technical reason that it wasn't going to happen.
I am sure while working on the ps5 port they found some optimizations they rolled back to xbox.i was told that current gen consoles will never run this at 60 fps
starfield legendary edition
starfield special edition
starfield anniversary edition
sounds like a good 10 year plan...................................
If i remember correctly Todd said in a interview they couldn't get a stable FPS and decided to lock it to 30. That was the "creative decision". They never said it could only do 30 FPS.Why is that BS? But Series S isn't holding back Series X they said.
You can build a much bigger game if you keep building it for a long time.so it wasn't doing some crazy cpu bound stuff only bethesda games deliver like apologists were claiming.
it was just halfbaked and unfinished. got it
Now this definitely should have been in at launch, why it was omitted in the first place is beyond me, seemed obvious
I’m convinced a lot of people were just playing stupid, pretending not to understand what is a completely logical argument. If i remember correctly Todd said in a interview they couldn't get a stable FPS and decided to lock it to 30. 100%. As usual.I’m convinced a lot of people were just playing stupid, pretending not to understand what is a completely logical argument.
Sustenance, environmental damage. Going to crank those up.Copying a comment someone on Era said.
They're adding game play modifiers which make it seem a lot like the Fallout 4 Survival mode.
And these effect your XP gain as well, so you can be rewarded by a higher multiplier with more difficult options.

Really good update but the problem is majority of these changes shouldn't have wait 8 MONTHS.
The fact they had to get Series S running this game at all probably helps Series X performance. But Series S isn't holding back Series X they said. This would have /should have been there from launch.
Hurry to see it getting released on PS5 to watch people praising it "GOTY OF THE YEAR". Will be fun.
