Now, the two leading actors from Sci-Fi's cancelled sci-fi series "Farscape" are coming together again in a whole new way. Two months on from the large success of "The Peacekeeper Wars" mini-series which wrapped up the story of the love between John Crichton (Ben Browder) and Aeryn Sun (Claudia Black), it has been announced that both Browder and Black will be joining the cast of "Stargate: SG-1" for its unprecedented ninth season.

Sci-Fi has officially confirmed that Browder will be a series regular starting with the ninth season premiere. The show is currently mid-way through its eighth season with the second half commencing in January. One of the first episodes of that second half introduces Black's character of Vala, an alien woman who sparks a friendly relationship with Daniel Jackson after she hijacks the Earth ship Prometheus for use by her people. Black is expected to reprise the character for at least five episodes early in the ninth season.

The article also says that Richard Dean Anderson may not be in the 9th season much at all and Amanda Tapping will sit out the first dozen or so episodes.

COCKLES

being watched
Can't wait to see Uber Bitch Replicator Carter invade Earth

Gotta give them kudos for getting it to 9 seasons....very few US shows make it that far, let alone Genre ones.

Dude do they need to put a Claw on that motherfucker? This is like the 3rd or 4th time this ship has been stolen. 200 bucks for a toilet seat but can't blow 19.99 on an antitheft device.

He going to restart up Pensacola: Wings of Gold?

Huh Richard wasn't in that. Josh Brolin(sp) AKA Mr. Striesand(sp again) was though.

The show is long in the tooth and really needs to be put out to pasture.

*shakes fist at monitor* Don't make me come over there. Anyho I sorta gotta agree. When the lead actor is trying to leave then you should really start packing it up. They have nothng to prove they have had 7 amazing seasons, an 8th that is just full of filler IMHO and if they go into 9 without Richard then it's only going to get worse.

Season 7:

They should've ended at season 7. Period. That was the best season so far according to me.

Season 8:

I was going to stop watching the show after George Hammond got fired and Dr. Frasier got killed but i try to reserve judgement for season 8. I forced myself to watch the first 11 episodes and it sucks a$$. O'Neil being the hot shot boss and he thinks he's funnneeeyyy and the team hardly travels to the distant stars. Forget 2nd half of the season 8 (<-----that's me). Most of the filming in the early season 8 takes place inside the stargate command building (forgot the name of this place).

Season 9 = TEH DOOOOOMMMMMED!!!

Season seven was fantastic with the return of Dr. Jackson and the episodes Heroes part I and II and Lost City part I and II. But the best season? Not by a long shot.

Season eight has been pretty bleak so far, but today's airing of Prometheus Unbound was cool (UK) and the 90-minute "Threads" will be great too. Not to mention the return of Maybourne, and the time-travelling finale in which the Goa'uld will probably
be defeated once and for all. Apparently, SG-1 including General O'Neill travel back in time with a Puddle Jumper and change history, killing Ra way before the first Abydos mission. Apophis is set to return in Moebius part I and II as well.

The series' director has revealed that season nine will start with a new enemy, and possibly a crossover from Atlantis to SG-1.
Ben Browder plays an X-302 pilot that fought in the battle for the Ancients' outpost over Antarctica and was offered a place in SG-1.

Suffice to say, a lot of loose ends will be tied up in the remainder of season eight.
