Imagine this is the only rendition of metropolis city and more importantly superman that we will get in a videogame. Oof.

Rocksteady wanted to make a superman single player game after batman, but the idea was canned by warner and had them work on this instead.

That was about as bad as expected, maybe even a bit worse. Really just a pile of trash.

I guess some people like SF, I don't give a crap.

And man, I love the Arkham games, but I really have no interest at all in Suicide Squad. They really tried to sell it as an "extension of the Arkham universe" here, probably because there's zero hype for the game, but for me it's not working.

RE4 does look good, except I don't like the new Ashley.

I want to vent. What a shitty show. Best part was Caprom. Fuck suicide squad and their call of duty guns. Fuck volcano emo high. PSVR games being sold as PSVr2. Everything was confusing. Why even have this. Only positive thing was Zangief made me laugh and I want to learn and play as him now.

This was not good and extremely disappointing after the last two SoPs, and oh god Suicide Squad looks terrible.

Probably the worst state of play they've ever done.

No, there's been worse. But there's never been a time more desperate for a real good show than now...

I feel like Sony has done a disservice by having just State of Play and then Future of PlayStation or whatever showcase format they will use going forward (whenever the heck that happens...) SoP was for a while either a trailer reel of not-E3-caliber games or catch-ups on known games to get some views, plus sometimes a specific deep-dive into one certain game, and then they also had indie events and I think other different type of streaming shows. And that was fine (at least, for those who knew SoP was going to always be a show to not lose sleep over. But then they started occasionally having a good State of Play, and they also failed to run any Showcase shows, plus they neglected making those deep-dive SoPs for a few games. Not that gamers weren't obnoxiously offbase with their hype for SoP rumors that always failed, but Sony complicated the SoP reputation by not making it suck all the time, only some of the time. So now, we have to treat SoP as the one lifeline we get while floating away in the PlayStation ocean hoping for a great hero.

They looked scared the whole time.

That was the hardest attempt at selling I've seen in a while.

Sony's State Of Plays are pure torture nowadays. Maybe 1-2 minutes of goodness sprinkled in between 40 minutes of indie trash, shovelware and GaaS garbage. Not a single game looked next gen. Not a single game impressed from a gameplay point of view. Nothing felt fresh or innovative.

There is no sugar coating this. The show was Wii levels of bad.

The best thing in the show was Baldur's Gate 3, which is not exactly novelty given I've been playing the Steam alpha for two fucking years at this point.

Suicide Squad seems a very well-made game in a genre I don't really give a damn about.

That was not only the worst state of play I've ever seen and just a terrible showcase in general but it was the worst gaming stream from a publisher I think I have ever watched in memory. There wasn't even a single new game announcement for their console. I can't believe this SoP was greenlit. Just unfathomably bad.

I give it an 7/10.
-1 for the VR games. Nothing interesting there.
-1 for having the nerve to show Goodbye Volcano high again.
-1 for lack of wow factor

Suicide Squad looked...okay? I'm interested in the co-op. To me the best game shown was that "humanity" game where you play as the dog. Street Fighter 6 looks meh even though im an avid fighting game fan.
Resident Evil 4 will be great I'm sure, but the presentation of it was hot garbo. Thought to myself "this is supposed to be a horror game, right?"

Suicide squad looks exactly what I'd expect when a talented studio gets saddled with a metric fuckton of corporate politics and marketing demands.

A rancid shit-sandwich of ideas piled one on top of another without any thought as to how its all going to come together as a product.

Poor fuckers.

Yeah, probably, at least from some sort of objective point of view. But I’ve seen State of Plays that left me much more disappointed than this one, so they’re doing something right in terms of setting expectations.

Yeah one of the worst states of play yet.

Suicide Squad looks ok, I like shooters with high mobility and it seems like it could be fun in Coop.
But it's still underwhelming for something Rocksteady has been working on for 7 years, and I wouldn't pay more than $30 for it.

That’s some modern gaming rating scale, hahaha

Nah I think it would of been good if it was like Gotham Knights....but this looks more like those bad online adjective shooters
Probably because GK is a single player game that can be played cooperatively. SS is an online coop game like Destiny and division. Its a dying genre. Hogwarts made $850 million in two weeks releasing on next gen consoles as a single player game. Lets hope like Crystal Dynamics did, WB realizes that single player studios like Rocksteady are an asset, not a liability. If you build a good SP game, they will come.

Imagine publishing Hogwarts Legacy and being dowsed in absolute critical and commercial praise but then one of your other studios shows off the steaming pile of dog crap that is Suicide Squad. Actually lmao rn

If I add the things you liked as positives thats 1 for SS, 1 for Humanity and 0.5 for SF6.

That's 2.5/10.
