NeoGAF's Physical Games Advocate Extraordinaire
In addition to Nintendo Switch™ 2 games, Nintendo Switch 2 can play compatible physical and digital games released on the Nintendo Switch™ system.

The Nintendo Switch 2 system's hardware is different from Nintendo Switch, and some Nintendo Switch games may not be supported on or fully compatible with Nintendo Switch 2.

Nintendo is continuing to improve compatibility, including by working with publishing and developing partners.

I wonder what those issues are? just some graphics glitches or actually game breaking stuff.

I expect it to be mostly graphics glitches, as they have incompatible shaders that the recompiler they're using probably missed

If anyone can figure out compatibility issues, I'd *think* Nintendo's engineers could.

At least Nintendo has embraced backwards compatibility with the Switch 2.

The list is so random, like you can have similar games but one of them would not work somehow. Like Fantal Fantasy 1 doesn't work, but all the others do.

Switch 2 uses a compatibility layer (similar to WINE on Linux) so it could be literally anything causing it. Most likely it's only affecting the first game because the first game uses a different intro screen where you select your characters class and name, and the other games in the series don't have this.

They shortened that list significantly as compared to what it was back in April. On another note, 15,000 games? Most of that has to be shovelware phone games. That is a ridiculous amount of games.

Relatively short list. But a few of them are dear to me so I hope they are fixed.

what about Astral chain or Hyrule warriors ?
Also, hope the Switch 2 runs them better since they were a shit show on S1 (Hyrule especially dropping to 22fps).

Pretty solid. Basically nothing I own is on the list of games with issues. I fully expect more minor issues to be uncovered once people are able to test the games more thoroughly on their own Switch 2s though. Only so much QA can cover.

Fuck! Nier Automata has been added to the "Startup Issues" list...

Like I said, what's to guarantee brand new released Switch 1 games not being incompatible with Switch 2?? Nintendo better figure this shit out quick.

they are in the Nintendo list, and those all seem to work, aside from the compatibility issues with Labo builds and games requiring switch 1 joycons to work

If input lag's all you got vs. PS4 and Xbox One, you know you've got a Switch upset on your hands.

the switch version is barely playable. highest input lag I've ever felt in a game... and I played OnLive on US servers while being connected from Germany, and that had legit less input lag
