“Aww, it’s so...average,” she said to him in a cold brick of passion
Let me try to translate:

“black guy! media! Arrrghflblbrbrbfklblgmrbrkdlsnshrjtjskktk truth rrraawrtrgrhkkglee.”
I didn't think about it but yeah the guy is the double whammy of being a minority and being a part of the mainstream media. And in certain parts of the country that is extremely unwise.

Brother just about took a direct hit just east of Houma. Lots of roof damage from wind along with a tree falling onto part of the house. Will be a lot of drying out and repair. Luckily he and our dad have the knowledge and tools needed, will just need the materials.

So I actually moved to New Orleans this month. I decided to evacuate my apartment on Saturday morning and took some things to hold me off for a little bit. I moved a little further upstate to ride it out with my family. We are all fine and we even have electricity and wifi but cell phone service was down for most of the day.

This was also my first week of Graduate school and now I have been told by the university that classes won’t begin until September 13th. Major power lines, sewage, and water are all down in the area I stayed at. What a great welcoming experience for my first time in the big easy lol.

Jesus. I feel so sorry for the people of that area. They live right slap bang in the centre of the most common pattern of travel for hurricanes. Every time they just about get over one, another one is right along to send them back again. And it's only going to get worse and worse "lollipop_disappointed:

Places like Houma and most of Jefferson parish were completely devastated. I just watched a video of a 75 year old man who lost his home and has no family to support him. He cried and said he has no idea what to do or where to go. It was heartbreaking to watch.
