Cant speak for Beyond Divinity, but Divine Divinity is Diablo with more traditional RPG adventure elements added in. Story and delivery are a bit hokey but I enjoyed it thoroughly. Oh the world is not procedural either, it is all hand created.

Only Beyond Divinity mentions being remastered:

Beyond Divinity is the follow-up to the award-winning Divine Divinity. This new re-mastered version offers support for Windows 7 and higher resolutions.

But I don't know why they'd sell the better of the two games un-remastered.
