Most of the story takes place inside the MMO, but it has some "outside the MMO" stuff.
The Light Novels that I mentioned explain some stuff outside the MMO.
The anime is the prequel to G.U. and explains imo quite a lot of stuff about the whole world and the characters.

This thing is better than most events Humble Bundles even. Amazing.
The only complaint is that it's so good I own most of them already.

It's definitely a solid bundle, but imma pass on it, too. I own nearly all of it with the exception of.... Shadowrun, I believe. Which someday I would like to play, but ...

That's what I figured, I'll have to check it out one of these days.
Can't remember what it feels like to beat a game lol, been toiling away at these huge rpgs for several months now.
Games usually deal with just inside the MMO that I know, though there are pieces about the outside world as well, like with .hack//Liminality OVAs which were part of the first 4 games. Loved that stuff personally.

And yeah. They take a lot of stuff really serious in that MMO. Some stuff is without spoiling anything.

nobody cares because its a bundle game. If it was, I dunno, Assassin's Creed Origins or whatever the fuck tickles Gaf's fancy this week, you are basically entering twice for one person.
