I missed it :(

Stupid ass Windows kept thinking that my data drives weren't formatted. And I'm still having problems getting the community features to work under Linux so I couldn't get the IP and play under Linux anyway.

God I hate Windows.

Hi Anthony,

I just took a look at the [munched] link you sent and it is legit -- I
remember like it was just last week. Oh wait, it was!

Thanks for clearing up any confusion about this and glad you're looking
forward to Orange.

We'll be announcing the pre-load and other details in just a few days.
Thanks for your patience. Hopefully, when it arrives, the games will
seem worth the wait.

Cheers

It would be cool if those other details were the Team Fortress 2 BETA. I'd piss my pants in joy.

Giving Valve money for anything they make and then put on Steam is a no-brainer. It's like paying the bills or taxes-you just do it and don't really think about it. :)

I hope so, cause i don't work tomorow and i can stay up all night :p

Usually your games start at 3:00AM on my time zone.

We usually play at 8:00pm Central. I don't know what that translates into at your neck of the wood.

Would it be at all out of the question to arrange something that has a more Europe friendly time schedule?

3AMs (for me in the UK) are going to be the end of me.

Any ideas on what to play?

About some plain, vanilla Half-Life Deathmatch? It's been years, but I used to love playing Half-Life DM. I can't remember the name of the map, but the one that had the bunker where you could launch a nuclear strike was always good for a laugh. Although maybe Half-Life 2 Deathmatch would get more players though.

I'll play either or.

I haven't played HL2-DM or HL-DM in A LONG TIME.

I guess we should give it a shot.

I didn't put anything up for tonight due to the holiday. Go see your folks you bums!

Labor Day is a holiday devoted entirely to sitting on your butt all day. If that's not the perfect time to schedule an event, I don't know what is. ;)

GAF nights will be so much better when TF2 and Left4Dead comes out. We should have a Sven Co-op night, those are always hilarious with a group of people.

We will, tomorrow I guess. Tomorrow is Dystopia/Half-Life 2 Mod day if I remember correctly.

Indeed it will be, TF2 will most likely occupy every day for quite a while.

Oh, and throwing that pipe back and forth for what it seemed like half a minute was hilarious. Well done! :lol

I figure this is the thread to ask...

My buddy (who's a huge TFC player) said that TF2 is going to require higher specs than CS:S and DOD:S. I don't believe him. I always figured it'd be the same. As it is, my computer runs each of those games on the lowest possible settings at 30-45 FPS. I want to be able to play TF2. :(

I doubt the minimum reqs will go up much at all, but the recommended will, yeah.

Wednesday is our One-Off night, I think we should do some mods that we haven't done before, like Sven or Action Half-Life or The Specialists or Decimation.

I'll be trying to run informal games of Company of Heroes: Opposing Fronts beta after any scheduled stuff winds down. More info on that and a download link here:

Don't miss your opportunity to beat me silly! Metalmurphy showed me the underside of tanks a few times tonight but I think I am finally "getting" the British-I refuse to play WM or US so the stuff I do know from the vanilla game hasn't been so helpful since the Brits and PE are so different.

I am getting a new computer shortly and would love to play with you guys. Is there still room in the gaf community?

There's like 600 in the group, but no more than 20-30 that you can expect to see on a regular basis on our game nights. The number is probably less than that, but I'm trying to account for those who only show up randomly.

I feel sorta bad, but I don't do CS:S or DOD, hence why I'm sorta WTF random.

I also lost my UT2004 disc in my last move. :( :( :(

Eh, it's fine. I don't do UT2k4 (never been a UT person, really) and when we were doing 2 nights of that a week, I wasn't seen all that much. Besides, I was mostly referring to the people who have shown up once or twice only.

Also, I enjoyed the couple of weeks that I played Insurgency for. Might be neat to pick it up again.

I like Dystopia up until the point that I GET OWNED (but not by Quellex, because he sucks ... and I can skillfully destroy him).

I try to help out as best I can with healing and killing people, but that's about the extent of my abilities.

Oh, they were great games. There was this one time, at the start of the last one, me and Frag walked out of the spawn area and turned left into a dead-end. We thought we'd give you guys a better chance by walking in the wrong direction and not going for the objective.

Yeah, Dystopia was fun last night. It made me wish I had a headset, because sometimes, I felt like I needed one. Any recommendations?
