there's guns too and a skill tree or perk or something and also being able to host thew new heist, right?

i wouldn't buy it myself but for enthusiasts it doesn't sound like such a terrible deal

7$ for the heist and 5$ for the character/weapons/skilltree.

That Folgers ad gif.

The original ad is still one of the funniest things I've ever seen.

Well, they've already got Oreimo, Nisemonogatari, SAO, and Mahouka gifs, so they've at least met the anime quota.

I mean, hell, "My sister keeps fishing for affection" sounds like a light novel title anyway.

I'm surprised there isn't any anime gif that rivals the folgers.gif.

That funny thread is dead now. :(

It was too beautiful for this world.

You know when someone called it a sister thread I presumed it was a sister thread to Steam or the Steam sale... I don't even know what I just read.

In my defense, I mentioned it was in OT.

Sure it is, it's just not government censorship. Censorship need not be written into law, and it can be implemented at any level, including self-censorship for fear of reprisal / not being sold / etc. It is true that some people use the word 'censorship' to implicitly mean 'official' censorship, but common usage does not.

For example, in the US the 'X' rating was initially not meant for 'porn', but any adult themed film - even A Clockwork Orange and Evil Dead were X rated. However, the vast majority of theaters would not show any X rated films, because they didn't want to be associated with the stigma of 'X rated'. The result was that studios self-censored to avoid the X-rating, because it was too often financial suicide (despite the long term success of my two examples, but that's a different phenomenon).

That's still censorship, even though it's completely indirect and the result of several disparate social/financial pressures. There was no law against X rated films, it was just pressure. It's called 'soft censorship' but common usage just truncates that to 'censorship'.

I'm not saying Steam doesn't have the right to sell / not sell whatever they want. Of course they do. But it is undeniably a form of censorship when a primary retailer refuses to sell something based on content. All you need to do to see why is change the 'objectionable content' to something most (rightly) don't find objectionable -- like if Steam decided to remove games like Mass Effect or Dragon Age that allowed same sex relationships -- to see why some might find any case objectionable.

I know of another large distributor of content (whose name I shall not mention) that sells anything and everything -- but marks any racist/objectionable material in house behind the scenes and donates 100% of profits from that material to various charities fighting those issues. A strange yet somehow beautiful solution to a very complex problem.

This is some pretty sweet rhetoric, but it's still nonsense.

Doing or not doing something, by a private entity, for any reason, is not censorship. It only appears that way because it appears to either be for or against a moral standpoint.

One does not censor themselves from not buying DmC when they like action games the same way someone does not censor themselves from not buying Bayonetta if they like action games and are a second wave feminist; it just appears that way because of the reasoning and a butchered understanding of what censorship actually means.

You can dress it up how you like, but real censorship, the type that should be railed against can not be found in private enterprise.

Soft censorship is like soft murder: it doesn't exist. It either is or it's mental gymnastics based on faulty logic.

Also started playing Dark Souls. I played it a while back when I first bought it, only got past the Asylum Demon before I stopped playing. The GFWL hassle just wasn't worth it. Enjoying what I've played so far (only played a little further this time), glad that malware is gone.

Are you pumped for #GFWL2.0?

Coming soon with that Halo:MCC everyone seems to want...

Since TF2-keys are getting locked, could gems be trading currency in future?
It would made sense, but at significantly lower price than now. It works like scrap/ref in TF2 too, which is used for trading too in some amounts.

Techically GFWL 2.0 is here, it's called Xbox Games and is for Windows Store games.

Xbox App is like achievement viewer / store for these.

I wondered about that a while ago, the whole situation and how people are using it seems like a new market currency with the added bonus of boosters.

Ahhhhh, I have $11 in my steam account to last me the steam sale. This gonna be fun.

Bummed that people keep saying "we don't have to worry about ever using GFWL anymore now that it's not in some crap game we all like!" Because, well, let's face it, whatever game that is isn't Bulletstorm, and Bulletstorm's still shackled to GFWL. I am sad now.

Haven't been playing many games on Steam lately due to finals, but that's all over on Thursday. Pretty excited. Gonna finally be able to dive into Alien: Isolation, The Evil Within, Far Cry 4 hardcore. mmmmm, so excited to get back to PC gaming.

Then again... I did just get the Suros Regime today...

Sadness.

I have come to the conclusion that at the current prices, unless you are getting under 10 cents per 100 gems on cards/backgrounds/emoticons, you are losing money turning those into sacks of gems.

That depends... if you use cards/backgrounds/emoticons in order to sell sacks on the market, you are right. The sweet spot is under 10 cents. Now, if you want to use gems for bidding and booster the actual number is 12 cents... right now.

Welp, I woke up and the gems are at 1 euro, while the games I want are sinking and already are at 4-8k (10-20k 10 hours ago).

I have no fucking idea if to sell or to wait and try to get a couple of those games for 1k, lol. Only 2000 gems left here :(

Gems to hit $2 on the last day of the auction.

No it won't... It will crash because demand will fall after the auction ends and people will get desperate to make some money... and so on... So everyone will start selling cheaper earlier, especially when US goes to sleep and Russia wakes up.

JaseC

gave away the keys to the kingdom.
Someone could suggest me a cheap badge to do? I want level up to 20 to increase drop chance for booster pack, but I don't wanna take out money for badge thing,

Sort this list by set price. Also, if you haven't already done so, recycling a Steam Community item for gems will get you 100 XP.

I don't really need a tag, but I figured I'd get one to make people jealous. Is it working?
