Dev Log #55: Global Map

As you can see on the screenshots, maps will (usually, but not always) record and display what useful (or not so useful) creatures and plants you've encountered there as well as other points of interest (merchants, doctors, certain quest objects). These will not be updated after the initial encounter and do not always represent the actual state of the map, but are rather meant to be used as useful auto-notes for harvesting organs and plants and such. They will typically not record robotic and human enemies. You can also add your own notes to the map. A lot of static features of the map will also reveal themselves as you explore the map so that you won't automatically know, for example, if there's a power generator on that map immediately after entering.

The map will be available in the next updated which will be released sometime before the DLC which is going to be released when it's ready. But on a serious note, I do hope to release a new update on the experimental branch at least in the near future so you guys can play with all the new stuff that we've added over the months and we can finally get this huge pile of patch notes off of our shoulders (and replace them with bug reports).

Also, first DLC that isn’t included for deluxe owners released today I guess along with the fall update. Khmer and Indonesia.

I’ll probably not buy any further DLC until an actual expansion drops or they bundle it in a complete edition that I can upgrade to at some point. Or if there’s a sale.

Related (sort of), Cities Skylines got a new “Green Cities” DLC today. Dunno how much it really adds compared to some of the others though.

So the Dryad is basically a sexy forest fairy. This is from their combat section:

The DLC section on the Civ VI store page doesn't seem to indicate this, but the page for the Khmer and Indonesia DLC itself states that it is in my library.

I believe the Deluxe spiel makes mention of six pieces of DLC being included, so I'd expect this to be the last one?

I'm having a strange issue here.

I tried to uninstall a bunch of Oculus games to free up space for EW2, and it didn't affect my left over space at all...? My space actually shrinked by 4 gigs for no reason. Is this a known issue with the Oculus program? I don't know what to do, never seen this before. Rebooted and no change to the size...

Playing a game on its release week/month is totally different than playing it later. People are still discovering things together and it adds up to the overall fun. It's different when I'm playing a highly-regarded game but a few months later. Everyone has moved on to another game and I don't have anyone to share things with. I've just noticed the other day that I have 200+ posts in Divinity OS 2 thread, and it's one of the main reason why I love the game so much. The discussions and community discoveries.

Many Ubi games had weekly challenges and Origins will probably have them. Origins will have daily quests too.

They wouldn't give a shit, they probably already sold a few copies, and even if it returns to Steam, the new version won't have the licensed tracks, which means the old copies will still be worth around 100$ at least. Even GTA Vice City with old audio is netting over 60$ right now and that was available for longer.

I wouldn't assume that at all. Very few things are really built from scratch. Certainly panorama will replace vgui, but there's no reason to think that a ton will change beneath the surface. Surely CEF will stick around as well.

Generally speaking i have to agree with Rhaknar, i don't see the issue with seperating art and artist.

The actual value and impression of something doesn't change just because the people behind it are deplorable.
Now if we'd be talking about something like Jontron's full on nazi propaganda that'd be a bit different in my eyes.

Tho since in this case the politics of a "feminazi apocalypse" are directly part of the game, it's impossible to differentiate between the two so it's fair to shit on the game itself.
