STEAM | January 2015 - Steam GOTY results: Delayed

Can anyone give me any other games that have gameplay like xcom-enemy unknown. I really like the turn base fighting like that. I don't like RPGs though, I want a game like xcom with maybe modern day weapons. There was a world war 2 game like that wasn't there? Preferably games on steam.

Jagged Alliance FlashBack

Wonder what crazy setting CDPR will include this time for those that put everything at max and then watch their computers wheeze and catch fire.

Genital hair density

I won't be able to play The Witcher 3, my laptop evidently doesn't meet the minimum requirements...

Remind me, are there any rules on by default with Modbot?

The default is:
- You can only enter for one game per giveaway
- You can only win once every fifteen minutes* (* the timer scales up the more you've won recently)

GARBAGEDUMP has absolutely no rules.

If I have some leftovers gems should I just craft booster packs or is there any chance there will be another auction?

zomg. This game is amazing. I was just playing it. Controls beautifully, the attacks have a great punchy feel to them. It's hilarious that one of your attacks is a pelvic thrust, and funny writing. Love the aesthetic of the game, it's like Sonic meets Rise of the Robots or something. Looks amazing downsampled from 4K and with max AA. Love the music.

I wish you could move with the d-pad on the controller, it's hard for me to do dashes with the stick. Haven't tried keyboard controls.

I want to thank derExperte for the game but feel awkward cause his Modbot code said no thanks. Thanks anyway :)

You can reassign the controls to the dpad in the options menu. I did like the aesthetics too, probably because it reminded me of Spiral Knights.

I just voted for the SteamGAF GotY, and its ridiculous just how good this year has been.

I settled on this:
Game 5 (1 point) : Valkyria Chronicles
Game 4 (2 points) : Shadowrun: Dragonfall
Game 3 (3 points) : Dark Souls 2
Game 2 (4 points) : Divinity: Original Sin
Game 1 (5 points) : Might & Magic X: Legacy

But if I need to leave out IMHO fantastic games like Wasteland 2, Age of Wonders 3, Legend of Grimrock 2 and Crimzon Clover you know you have an insane year at your hands.
In other years, really good games like Blackguards or Elminage Gothic could easily have made my top 5, but now I'm not even sure if they are in the top 10.

Actually surprised you put Dark Souls 2 over Dragonfall, but I can completely get behind your top two choices.

Eesh, don't even make recommend for the Witcher. Hope it doesn't affect me too much and I imagine I'll still get some nice looking game at 60fps.

Well, not sure if it'll work (activated the Humble gift and it turned out I already had it on Steam. But it shows the activation page in a private tab so there's a chance) but hey, garbage dump, so it's worth trying. And maybe someone still doesn't have it?

I love how people almost apologize for giving away free games these days.

My man.
Such a pity Limbic got Ubisoft's version of CoD MP map packs in return for this gem. :\

I have 750 TI, is that equivalent to 660?

Hmm, I'm downloading it right now. It's been on my radar for a while (mostly due to the gorgeous screenshots, and I like walking simulators). From what I've read people said the puzzles were good and their difficulty ramped up nicely.

No its working fine, thanks.

Will make a good gift for my younger brother who just joined steam last year.

It might be because I expected this to be more in line with something like Dear Esther than what I was expecting, first few sets of puzzles are simple then suddenly I've continuously stumped, and confusing level design in some of these wasn't helping >_<

Witcher 3 specs are reasonable, considering the scope of the game and the graphics it's pushing. Witcher 2 looked phenomenal and ran very well when it came out. I have no doubt this game will be very optimized.

"Is it worth it?"
If you enjoy First Person Survival Horror Games then it is worth it.
Its a survival horror game. Check the gameplay before buying. Its basically run from enemies all the time and discover clues!
check out the video on steam
its a run and hide game...can be startling
lol People are answering when frost actually hates that question XD
So Witcher 3 Specs are here
Have to say, I am surprised with a 770 being the recommended spec o_O
Was expecting much more. This is good.
Maybe I will be able to get to the start menu at about 0,3FPS hah ;_;
So I uploaded a screenshot the other day of Farming Simulator 15 with an American flag on it, and the only likes are from Europeans. Who knew Europeans loved America more than Americans themselves do?
Americans are ashamed to show their pride maybe?
looooooool
They love simulators.

Ok. The "Arbeit macht frei" part got me.
aarklashg7s34.png

Just finished Aarklash: Legacy.

In Aarklash Legacy, you control a group of 4 characters with different skills, that combat their way through unfriendly lands. The active pause system allows you to study your enemies to figure out their weak points before engaging them in a fight. You can also play completely in real time, if you so prefer. As you cannot grind levels, loot, or anything else, playing with the right tactic is crucial in this game. The difficulty felt just right, my group would wipe occasionally because of an oversight on my part/ bad strategy, but the game never felt unfair.
There is a fair amount of puzzles in this game, that you need to solve in order to progess the story. Unfortunately, while I love puzzles, they felt pretty samey and some were a bit tedious. But since none of the puzzles take a long time to solve, this was a very minor issue.
Story and characters were pretty much forgettable, but got the job done.
The game is completely voiced.

Overall it's a very well made tactical game, with fun combat but uninspiring puzzle design. If you absolutely hate solving puzzles in games, I wouldn't recommend playing this game, as it has a lot of them.
Nice impressions. I must have mixed that game up with an old isometric fantasy game. This does look interesting. Especially the ability to pause during battle.
This took a turn to the hilarious fairly quick. Haha XD
Why is everyone getting so worked up about the H scenes in NekoPara? It's not like it's the first time you guys see this kinda stuff.
You know, it is very easy to tell who doesn't regularly is exposed to weird hentai fetish shit by just looking at the reactions.
Those who are new are freaked out even by the smallest things while more experienced gaffers like milamber & chairmanchuck remain virtually unphased by catgirl porn. :p
Vegemite is a nice guy normally... what the hell did you do to make him gift you Brothers? o_O
lol I was thinking about your opinion on Brothers tbh while I was sending it.
Man, I hate... HATE... HATE... the character of Harkyn.
Lords of the Fallen is a solid game. I feel like it's worth the $20 I paid for it.
However, I think he's ugly and would rather put a cool helmet on him... so I do.
And then every time I hit a story scene or beat a boss or converse with someone (or anything non gameplay) they instantly remove my helmet and I have to look at his stupid space marine playing Dark Souls face (BUT WITH TATTOOS ON HIS FACE! EDGY!) .
Also, some of the achievments are buggy or have bad descriptions. :\
The visuals are sometimes more impressive than DS imo. I like the abundance of effects like dust or sth. floating in the air, very intricately detailed armor and enemies, very detailed "dungeons".
But on the flipside, the environments and enemies get too stale quick. Not a lot of variation throughout the game.
Then again, I think it is a very solid product considering the dev.
Anyone down for some tf2? I can't sleep.
Oh yeah, and Veggie I can't stop hearing hitori bocchi every time I see your avatar. Nhk, yes?
image.php
Oh yes :)
What a great anime it is. Really love the tone of it. Maybe because I can identify myself with him so much, hah.
Well, this looks interesting. Kinda reminds me of FractOS with the FPS/Music setting.

I close down my SteamGAF tab one day to work and I miss Assassins Creed discussion.T_T Been itching to rant about it haha.

Also glad that my computer qualifies for Witcher 3 recommended specs... though I still fear that won't mean maxing it out with full AA and at 2.5K resolution.

Wall of Let's Play and Impressions

My Let's Play of Dr. Green:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lyMDdH85mRs

Sega Master System visuals and decent sound track. Definitely has a heavy Sega feel to it, some weird blend of Sega Arcade and Sega Master System platformers. Story is a bit weird, has a heavy opening and then the forest raises you and you need to save it with a gun that shoots acorns? When you destroy baddies they explode into a pile of leaves.

The bosses are where it's at though. Decently difficult. All told, I recommend it.

My Let's Play of Tengami:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OLBV0BzgCxw

Excellent visuals, okay-ish music, interesting pop-up-book mechanics all in a Point and Click adventure shell. I don't think it's that long and puzzles are pretty easy, but it's still satisfying to appreciate the art that went into it. Recommended.

My Let's Play of Towers of Altrac:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wk_Tl_8F8z8

A middling TD game. Horrendous render distance, lot's of pop-in at Ultra settings. Three different factions each with their own sets of towers that visually look different but are the same basic tower.

I really liked the ability to go first-person mode on any of the baddies in the wave. Just a so-so TD game.

My Let's Play of Warhammer Quest:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pgfFj56XyTk

If you are a fan of Games Workshop Warhammer dark fantasy than you'll really like this top-down party-based SRPG interpretation. Lots of varied events that happen in town, such as catching an illness and being offered a "cure" from some nomadic halfling (all things transpire through text while in town) and signing up for quests at the guild hall. Hardcore difficulty available which is the same difficulty as normal, but when your heroes die, they stay dead.

Mostly battle-centric but scratches that deep D&D style RPG itch. Recommended.

it's good, though I haven't finished it yet

It's good that you didn't pay much mind to them.

I liked Heroes of M&M VI, but it's no M&M X. Come on, Ubisoft. Do the right thing after HoM&M VII, and let them do M&M XI.

Yeah, I don't have a major problem with this. Seems like a good idea to give the next Heroes to a team that has proven itself in the overall franchise. However, they must also let them make M&M XI. To let the M&M RPG series die again would be a crime.

Is this a straight port of the iOS game, or is it something new?
