If you see yourself using the features then go back and get yourself a 770 gtx. Make sure to get the 4GB version unless you will be upgrading very soon.

I would love to stay on AMD for Mantle and FreeSync... (and I really do prefer AMD) but sigh GameStream + Shield and ShadowPlay are highly tempting

I assume you won't be upgrading your GPU again for quite some time? I'd stick with AMD for the extra VRAM if you can't swing a 4GB 770.

I have a 290 myself right now but there hasn't been a killer game with Mantle yet and FreeSync isn't out until monitors with DP 1.2a comes out which is end of the year at the earliest. At least Nvidia features are here. I only chose the 290 because it was so cheap used.

Welp just lost 50k souls in Dark Souls. Might be tired from CS so I decided to play some Dark Souls but wasn't thinking things through. Decided to Yolo jump in the pit with the 3 octorocks in Lost Izalith. -_- I need to take a break from gaming and get some sleep lol.

oof, that's bad... but don't sweat it man, we've all been there. And you can probably recover those amounts of souls in little to no time!

I quite liked to farm souls in Anor Londo and New Londo Ruins. Yes, farming souls isn't actually necessary and can even feel pointless, but I wanted some souls to level up (and I was looking for Silver Knight weapons in AL and that über-rare Titanite Slab drop from certain enemies in NLR
I must've been lucky 'cause I got one
) so I did it, and it was FUN. Especially parrying the Silver Knights. Good times.

So yeah... don't be dismayed or anything. Take the L, rest for a while, focus and get going. You'll be kicking ass again after a short while!

Current rumours point to Q4 this year or Q1 next. I'm hoping for the former as I'd like to move beyond my two 670s circa AssCreed Unity. If I had 4GB cards I could probably afford to skip the 870 in favour of the 970, but alas.

Betrayer's great. I kept with the black and white look throughout the game, as I feel the game looks fantastic that way.

Just came back from watching Dawn of the Planet of the Apes (ridiculous name btw). Was pretty good.

Damn it Koba lol. Straight up Lion King at the end.

are there any steam games with apes in them? Where you can play as one or the ape is the enemy? The only ape game i know is that King Kong one on the 360.

Anyone else noticing that the lag on clicking Steam chat links has decreased considerably lately (maybe just today)? It's been pretty welcome. Would still like to turn off that warning entirely, though.

Also beat State of Decay this week. That's one hell of a game, you guys. Really hope that team gets a bigger budget to make a "full retail" game this gen.
