prepare for the OST to kinda sound off (which you wouldn't really notice if you've never played the game) and for load times. It's such a great game, i envy you. Might be my favorite FF game ever. It's definitely my favorite of the 2D games, just barely surpassing FF4.
the sad thing about FF6 is that none of the ports for it have lived up to the original SNES version. the PSX one is the closest, though, with the GBA version being ok if you manage to play it on an emu with the swapped out soundtrack. It still looks lower res than other versions of the game.
the less said about the mobile version the better.

I hope 6 makes it to Steam in some form eventually. It seems to be one of the more highly regarded Final Fantasy games that I haven't played yet.
I may be in the minority, but I'm kind of the of the opinion that the SNES-era FF games (also Chrono Trigger) don't need to be heavily remade (or remade in 3D for that matter), beyond enhancing the palette a bit and adding widescreen support. Hell, I could barely tell the difference in audio fidelity between the SNES and NDS versions of the FF4 battle theme.
