What does a mod see? Into the head? Down into the heart? Does it see into me? Into us? Clearly or darkly? I hope it sees clearly because I can't any longer see into myself. I see only murk. I hope for everyone's sake the mods do better, because if the mod sees only darkly the way I do, then I'm cursed and cursed again.

This question had been in my mind lately, mainly because I'm considering buying a second ssd drive. I hate when aNew game comes out and I want it to load with all the crispness of a new toy but then it turns out to be 60gb including the Japanese audio and it won't fit unless I remove all my other games.

I have 1x 500gb for media and games and 1x 128gb ssd for the OS and special games

When they have these bad boys for around $200 bucks, it'll be a nice day.

On a vaguely related note, I've had to make an unscheduled fresh install of Windows 7 and while I don't think I've 'lost' any data I am beyond annoyed. Using an operating system's Disk Cleanup tool should not result in having to re-install the whole OS. That is just far too literal an interpretation of disk cleanup.

Welcome to the new peeps.

Also finally after 12 gruelling hours have made it to Chapter 4 in FFXIII. I think it's spawned a new game mechanic that must have been lost on me in 2010, the Long Time Event. Not having a Commando to slow the decay of the chain gauge certaintly can makes battles tedious if you don't gain a Premeptive Strike bonus. My poor A button won't last at this rate.

Is there anything planned to make steam achievements more wortwhile?

I feel like unless you can perfect a game (to show it off on your profile) they are pretty pointless to get. I miss some kind of gamerscore like xbox or origin have.
Also its way too complicated to compare them with your friends. I like the global statistics though.

There's playfire rewards(through greenmangaming) which give credit for completing certain achievements but they've been offering less and less lately. Plus the credit can no longer be used in conjunction with coupons making it a lot less useful. Still, it's something.

Comparing achievements with friends is pretty easy through, just have to go the game page, click on "friends who play this" and compare achievements or something of that nature is under their username.

FFXIII runs like shit for me
Can barely lock it to 30 fps on a i3-3250+750 Ti. Frequent drops while loading stuff despite: a) CPU usage hovering around 60-70% b) GPU usage hovering around 40-50% c) game data on SSD.
I've tried disabling USB devices, does not help. Don't have any way to disable HT in my BIOS, game doesn't seem to work with /affinity.
It's playable at least, but still, other people easily lock 60 fps@4k, so something is seriously wrong here.

Got the Sleeping Dogs Definite Edition, will probably try to play through it later today as I never finished the game. Enjoy the melee combat but the horrendous driving and mediocre shooting put me off towards the end. Hopefully all the frilly costumes will entertain me enough :p If nothing else the wonderful blood splatter/stains will entertain my deprived mind for a while.

The game does not easily lock at 60 fps for anyone. I have an i7 2600k @ 4.5 GHz and a GTX 970 and I still get fps drops to 20-30. I'm usually very cautious to call developers out as lazy, but this port is not optimized at all. It's like they hit the "target PC" button in VS and called it a day.

Yeah, I'm running a better rig than you (CPU + GPU) and my performance is terrible. Doesn't matter what settings I use, it only uses about 40% of my GPU max and spends most of its time at 30 to 34 fps, with rapid erratic spikes to 60. I'm shelving this game until someone figures out why it runs like ass.

Terribly lazy port, and more than enough reason to approach the next PC FF titles with extreme caution.

so when is DR3 supposed to turn into a hot mess? is it only if you unlock the 60fps?

Im running it with everything maxed and it runs butter smooth (well, as butter smooth as 30fps allow I guess), but really, it looks fine, especially for the amount of shit on screen.

People have trouble hitting and maintaining 60. I lowered a few settings and the game ran fine on my end. You should give 60 a try.

A lot of people shit on the port, but I think it's just fine. The engine is the thing that needs fixing.
