So can someone explain to me how I can get cards? I just leave the game idle and after x amount of time I'll get a notification saying I received a card, then i can sell these in the marketplace for steam wallet funds? Where can I find the list of games that I can idle/play for cards, and do I have to be In game or can I just be in the start menu?

If you don't have issues wih games outside Steam, I would recommend buying The Witcher (1 and 2) from GOG. Tons of extra content.
