I don't regret a purchase just yet (in fact, most of it was on my list), but I didn't enjoy having to pay full price for the Kingdoms of Amalur DLC. :(

I shoulda kept a running total, because the wife just asked "how much did that cost?"

Final Haul:

Bulletstorm (Amazon)
Binary Domain (Amazon)
Deus Ex: Human Revolution (Amazon)
Mount and Blade: Warband (Amazon)
Sonic Generations DLC
Alan Wake Bundle
The Walking Dead
Limbo
EUIII Chronicles (Amazon)
Krater
Scratches

That's a lot more than I was expecting to get -- and a heck of a lot less than some of you -- but I'm pretty happy. Plus, I've already finished Bullet Storm, Binary Domain, and the two available episodes of Walking Dead.

Spent about twice as much as I intended to, the flash sales really did me in there, but other than that I'm reasonably happy with what I got.

Same for me, most of what I've bought was in flash sales/community voting and I missed 2 as well (SSFIV AE and Half Life) . I think the flash sales will be here to stay, but I expect contests of some sort in the upcoming winter sale (what's with being christmas time and all) .

Total purchase:
For me:
BulletStorm $4.99
The Last Remnant : $2.20
Fallout New Vegas UE: $9.99
Darksiders: $2.00
Saint Rows The Third $9.99
Just Cause $3.75

Gifts:
For me:
Arma II CO (xelios)
Limbo (Friend)
Poker Night at the Inventory (Alien)
Pixel Junk Eden (Link Man)
Caster (Forkball)
Bastion (Type2)

Not going to list how much I gave out :) lets say it was ok.

Thanks everyone!

Total money spent on this sale: $58. I've held myself from buying lots of games since I know I won't be playing them anytime soon. Will grab them on the winter sale.

I think the Flash Sales and Community Votes are the natural alternative to the last day of recap deals. They serve the same purpose and allow for a bigger pool of repeats, to cater to a bigger audience.

So, any plans to actually play all that, or are you collecting them just for the sake of it? :)

I still can't believe you bought more stuff.

I'm kinda glad with myself that I didn't go over $600 dollars. At the rate I was going earlier during the sale, it looked like I was going to easily beat it. I'm interested to see how much I'll spend during next year's Summer Sale.

Plan to? Sure. Will that actually happen? Who knows. :p

I couldn't shake off the Lego games. haha. I figured that, since none of them went any further than their general sale discount, they wouldn't be much cheaper, if at all, during the Winter/Christmas sale. Plus, ever since I saw screenshots of Lego Clone Wars in the PC screenshots thread, I've really wanted to give the games a go.

Edit: The Winter/Christmas sale is going to be interesting, especially since Steam Greenlight will have been running for a good few months by then.

What I ended up getting:

Trine Franchise (Trine 1 & 2)
Monkey Island: Special Edition Bundle (Monkey Island 1 & 2)
Fallout 3 - Game of the Year Edition
Dead Space Pack (Dead Space 1 & 2)
Red Faction Guerilla
Star Wars: KOTOR
STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl
Oblivion - Game of the Year Edition

Total damage: €34,91
Average price per game: €3,17

Pretty happy with that! 11 games and many hours of entertainment for about half of what a new console game typically costs here.

Also, I was gifted Magicka and Beyond Good & Evil by two kind souls, so I've actually got 13 new games!

Hey peeps! It's dot's turn to give back. :)

I got 2 games to give out. If you can solve my word puzzle you win. Basically just guess the right word (it's not really much of a puzzle). The first prize up will be Wizorb.

I'll give 2 hints every 10 minutes so this doesn't drag on.

The missing piece of the pie is "games that did not go on sale" - Dustforce is the biggest culprit!

They never put Port Royale 3 on sale more than 50% - it was probably worth $19 though...now it is back to $39 (you snooze you lose)

The new Sins of a Solar Empire game barely got a sale either...

What happened to the binary code puzzle? Was it cracked?

yeah, he had to lay it out for us; convert binary to decimal, the leftover numbers were representative of alphabet letters with a caesar shift of 2, or something

'ihateprogramming' was the result.

The poster have to give the solution out and the steps to solve it. In other words, unless you are from a programming background, you weren't going to get it.

Oh man I was worried I wasnt going to make the last few purchases since kept doing things in small batches. The last few minutes steam was FREAKING OUT lol. Guess lots of other folks like me doing last minute shopping.

Lots of indie stuff and a few choice mainstream titles that was on the fence about.

Great sale this year!

Finally picked up the whole Star Wolves collection. Always wanted them, but had stood off on it for a while now. Love games published under the 1C umbrella. Same with the Men of War pack. Though already had 2 games in it, but felt ah what the hell and bought it anyways.
Though its a damned shame that Steam is so adamant about not giving extra copies if you already had one in purchase. To me it should be a small thank you, for already having purchased the game "most likely at full price" but still buy a "bundle" which is why you now are rewarded with having an extra copy to gift.

Yeah I know business wise though thats not all too bright considering it would eat into potential customers from word of mouth after / during sales with the constant gift giving that would be going on. Still though, am sure at least some of you must agree with the reasoning behind why it would be nice if they did do gift copies instead of full on cockblocking instead.
