This is kind of a fun side thing to add to steam. Make them steam achievements do something!

Joined the steam group, hopefully I get invited!

must I replay those games to whore myself to some xp?

The market for the invites is insane right now. The price is goping up by the second. It's at 0,50€ right now.

Pretty sure there are some computer buying up all the lowest price ones. Or else I'm not as fast as I think. Still, bought a bunch at 30 cents and then selling a bunch now.

Nah, that's sort of implied when you leave your community link. I do the same thing if I have things to give out. (not going to go looking through this thread to find people quoting me and asking me to invite them)

I obviously don't participate in threads like this enough, because I had no idea that was what was implied at all.

Got my second card

As far as I've seen, this doesn't have anything to do with achievements. You get cards based on your time spent in a game, and the profile level is only affected by badges. Achievements are still the same as they were, although this does open up some possible ways of adding value to them if Valve wants to do that in the future.

The price for the invites keeps going up everytime I press f5. I'm waiting for the right time to sell mine. This must be what the stock market must feel like.

people on friend list suddenly playing HL2 and Portal 2 :)

Well I bought two invites for Under 70 cents. Will try to flip them.

Really wish I had my gaming PC up and running a few of those cards have sold for over ten each already.

So I played Don't Starve for an hour or so (cool game, incidentally, check it out) and "got" two trading cards. I only got to day 3 and I'm a total noob, so it doesn't appear to be in-game actions that generate the cards but rather just playing the game at all.

They get added to your inventory while you're playing randomly, you don't even see them while you're playing.

I'd rather they'd be based on achievements, but I realize that would just make people use achievement unlockers and other peoples 100% save games and such.
