Yes, most of the combat abilities are still locked on the demo as thats the beginning of the game. So you only have access to basic attacks and all the flashy and cool stuff is unlocked as you progress. The game is also a mix of linear stages with open world maps, the main story happens all in the linear stages while the open world areas serve to do side quests, exploration, enviromental puzzles, collectibles and optional boss fights. There are also a couple surprize stages that completelly change the gameplay mechanics.Does the first game get better after the demo? I ended the demo with the impression the game is all about flash and her butt, but core gameplay felt pretty mid. Not bad, just nothing good about it.
I still have it on my wishlist and it's 20% off on steam right now, but... I dunno.
If you play the extra boss fight from the demo where the character already has more of the habilities unlocked, you get a better idea how the game will play. If the demo did not convinced you, either skip it or wait for a good promo.
