I saw the Warriors Curry play the Raptors this past week. It was insane. Lowry got similar points for the game, but while Lowry was working his ass off for his plays, curry was just casually walking up to the 3 point line and sinking his baskets. Unreal.

Warriors are gonna change the way the game is played for the next decade or more. It's the mix of great defense with superb jump shooting result you get ala Final Fantasy Chocobo breeding.

This is the realization of what Mike D'Antonti tried to do with the Suns only he wasn't defensive minded.

Also, this style of play effectively kills the 15-20 foot jumper, going forward. Why would you even bother shooting that if a step back gives you 3?

For what it's worth I'm pretty sure the NBA has been trending towards this for a while now. Stat nerds have realized that anything besides a 3 point shot or a dunk is less than ideal.

you sound like houston right now

It'll be interesting to see how scouts will evaluate to find the next Steph Curry. There have been plenty of quality shooters in college and in HS that just simply don't translate into the pros despite being billed as shooters.

The issue isn't the system. It's having the players to make it work. I don't care how many wide open three's you give Rudy Gay. He ain't hitting them.

Finding the next Curry is not going to be easy, it's not like focusing on handles and pull-up 3's is a new concept. Curry is simply a generational player, and the warriors blueprint is not something that will be easily replicated.

You also need a Draymond.

Did you miss the part where I mentioned needing skill?

Did you? The warriors have a once in a generation player who commands attention away from the ball along with Draymond. who is probably the best all around power forward in the league. I don't care what system you play in or how many three's you take, your team is as good as the personnel that you have.

There are like, 4 teams in the league with the personnel to do this. (Dubs, OKC, Spurs, Cavs) You need two elite scorers at minimum, multiple defensive specialists and a super strong jump shooting core.

What we will see is a lot of horrible attempts at imitation.

Not a huge basketball fan. But supposing Curry keeps up for the bulk of his career what he's been doing this year and last, would that put him above James? Jordan?

IMO he surpasses James this year when the Warriors win the chip again. If they 3-peat it will be beyond dispute.

Curry plays like dogshit. Puts up 37 ANYWAY (albeit in 2OT). This is probably the worst he'll play in a while, still with that cool 37.

O yeah and that's one of the reasons they're so dominant. No one in the league is equipped to handle the Warriors. Usually teams are built like Memphis with 2 dominant bigs in the post with a good 4 having a midrange game. GS was like fuck that all our guys can guard 1-5 and shoot 3s. As a result they're just blindsiding the league with 3s and the ability to switch on everything.

Im from from an avid sports fan but that was a great game and i was on the edge of my seat.

Would really like to see the warriors cut down on their turnovers. Seemed like there were a lot of unnecessary flashy passes that led to some miscommunication and easy intercepts.

That whole last stretch was all draymond and curry. Was really hoping for him to not get fouled out. Didn't think he'd survive 1 OT let alone 2. Hopefully klay can play tomorrow

I don't think Klay can play tomorrow. It's probably better to rest him.

D Green played OT with FIVE fouls and was still fighting for boards. Plus they had to play the refs too who had some monstrous bullshit calls. The last Curry foul from the 3rd was UTTER garbage, he was no where near the play. Had me pissed. But they STILL pulled it out. Hard fought and well deserved win.

I feel like Curry basically dragged them out of the 4th quarter by himself and then Green did it during both OTs. That 3 Curry 180'd though.. this man. One of the few who hits 37 and didn't really play as good as he can.

The Warriors are just the logical final result of the rules changing to favor perimeter players plus the complete lack of dominant centers. If there was a Hakeem or prime Duncan or Shaq in the league, they might be able to challenge them, but as things are now...

RE: Draymond:

Draymond went bonkers in 50 minutes during a 124-119 double-overtime victory over the Celtics on Friday, scoring 24 points with 11 rebounds, eight assists, five steals, five blocks and two 3-pointers.

Yep, that is the first 5x5 line since Nicolas Batum in 2012. He's also the third player to post a 20-10 and a 5x5 in the past 40 seasons (Hakeem Olajuwon and Derrick Coleman). This ridiculous game got Draymond Green into the top 20 for fantasy value. As great as Stephen Curry is, the Warriors would have probably lost six or more times without Draymond Green this season. He's elite and is one of the best power forwards in the NBA.

Green is one of my favorite players. Besides his incredible skill, he is the leader of his team. I definitely agree he's the reason they haven't lost a few times this season. He should be wearing the armband IMO, even if Curry is incredibly clutch on many occasions.

Depends on how he gets the assists.

Is he genuinely creating offense, or is it Lebron-style assist-hogging?

Steph doesn't pound the rock like most dominant scorers/ playmakers do. I'd say he brings the ball up about half as much as traditional pgs because teams double him as soon as he gets into any high pick and roll option. The reason why his assists are lower is for two reasons. 1) he is taking more shots because he's imrpoved his efficiency at 30 feet. 2) because he's doubled in the pick and roll, draymond gets the ball and forces a 4v3 situation at the half court..this is why draymond's assists have gone up. So while you can say yeah, curry is taking more shots, he doesn't do it at the detriment of killing team offensive tempo. This isn't Kobe getting the ball at the wing/ harden or lebron at the top of the key and iso'ing.

The current rules were in response to Shaqs dominance with the Lakers.

Zone always favors perimeter players. Too easy to show down the paint in the zone.

Yeah, for whatever reason there don't seem to be many centers who can shoot >55% with high usage the way there were in the past.

Prime Shaq would be incredibly valuable and would automatically turn his team into a title contender today, 3 point revolution or no.

Curry has an unreal amount of hockey assists. Basketball should start tracking those.

Steph took a little break from destroying the league. But he definitely took it all out on Cleveland. Poor Cleveland.

35 points in 28 minutes on 18 shots. Just...ridiculous.
