"Streamer" "shows off" "Nintendo Switch" live on stream.

When you compare it with the official switch picture just posted a moment ago, it looks like a definite fake. Everything is off, the size of the lettering, the sticks looking much cheaper, the color being lighter

I don't understand the world of videogame livestreams. Folks making bank off this stuff makes me feel like I've done something wrong with my life.

Can 3D printers really get the details that close? Like the curved notches on the top corners of the screen?

I am having trouble believing this doofus has the resources to make such a convincing fake, I bet it's a dev kit and not a production unit.

I'm sure he has enough money to pay someone else to make him one.

Why would this guy have a Switch for starters? Wouldn't test console be kept inside developer studios and inside Nintendo's building, like, exclusively?

Yeah, because some random screamlord got a hold of one and not anyone actually doing the digging. That twitter pic he posted looks 3D printed as fuck too. Great way to get attention though.

As I said in the other thread that talked about it, the A, B, X, Y button label looks fake as fuck.

If you're gonna fake something at least try to do a decent, convicing job

I think we're at the point where people aren't so desperate for Switch info that they'd believe something like this. We've already been through this whole thing.

lol is this theead for real?
I think it's a parody right? I mean he's not trying to pass that thing off as legit, I hope

YAAAAAAS Etika the madman actually did it!

Yeah! Damn! He paid someone to 3D print, what a boss!

And Etika shirtless looking naked on camera is a running gag of his.

THAT'S HILARIOUS

It's most likely a 3D printed fake, and to be honest I think it comes pretty close to being a convincing fake at that. Had the designer not flubbed the ABXY face buttons and right stick, we'd probably be stewing over this quite a bit longer (a la the 3D printed NX prototype fake from earlier this year).

Another possibility is that maybe it's not a final unit but instead a dev kit/prototype, though I think that's even less likely than Etika getting sent a final Switch unit.

But I think the real story here is less about the supposed Switch in the stream, and more about the stream itself and these reactions.

In other news, a streamer was found dead, strangled by ninjas earlier today.

Lmfao, this is the perfect way to unveil the Switch live actually.

How will he be able to afford a suit for court, he doesn't even have a shirt.

lmao how high is this dude

I can tell it's fake because of the anime poster on the wall.

No trustworthy human being would own stuff like that.

lmao you guys have no chill.

Nope. I've always been incredibly annoyed by the guy. At least his personality in his videos.
He's annoying, ya. His hype is also style over substance.

Doesn't even know which game the chara is from until the trailer punches him over the head with it.

Here the reaction from someone who actually knows his shit. Recognized FF VII from the very first note. Also the entire vid seems much less forced and faken than Ettika's.

That's not how NDA's work.
Engineering samples and other pre-release hardware are usually handed out under some type of confidentiality agreement, so that's exactly how NDA's work.
I mean, what kind of NDA would that even be?

"Hey we're giving you a piece of hardware that has never left Nintendo property, that won't come out for another five months and that is so top secret that not even our software partners are allowed to talk about it. But here's you're unit, because you're a YouTuber."

What.
I don't know who this guy is so I'll reserve judgement as to why a company may issue him this type of confidential hardware, wouldn't be the first time though... that is if it's not actually some sort of mockup or fake.

Meh, just look at the shape of handles on the gamepad adapter thingy and compare it to the original promo shots. Totally fake.

Etika posted this on Twitter a few days ago. The tweet is gone but I saved this:

That's too good to be 3D printed. Maybe he got hold of the version used for the trailer/promo? Weren't those just empty shells?

Had he not posted that closeup I'd be undecided. Now? Fake as shit.

The Switch never being turned on makes me believe it's real, because it's that much closer to the normal Nintendo console experience.
