"Streamer" "shows off" "Nintendo Switch" live on stream.

Creating fake hardware to scam viewers into donating is crazy unethical.

Just to let you know that was created by a fan, he didn't launch the donation page himself.

Might want to read up more before accusing him of stuff like this.

Also holy shit great job kankki! Didn't know you were here as well lol

That's a lot of effort put into a pretty poor hoax.

Saying that, the making of video was cool. Better than the hoax itself actually.

Such a shame they didn't just buy replacement WiiU gamepad buttons, they look identical to the Switch's. Such an easy fix to the otherwise huge giveaway.

No one shall be brought before our LORD David Bowie without the true and secret knowledge of the Photoshop. For in that time, so shall He appear.
Etika contacted us and we made it for him

That was an unbelievably beautiful fake. I have so, so much respect for you and your team. Seriously dude.

I don't think that's what the person you were responding to was talking about though--Etika gets donations during his streams, and he showed the fake controller on a stream, which caused a wave of donations to come in.

Those donations come in anyway no matter what, his streams are very donation heavy. And doubt he paid those people to make that fake just to get some $5 donations.

Of course he did; why else would he pretend it's real? Or rather, I'm not arguing it was even for those specific donations (even though he got some for way more than just $5), but he'll profit out of this one way or another. It got him a wave of publicity, growing his audience, thereby increasing his revenue. The fact we're still talking about this stuff shows how damn effective it was at outreach!

Once the real Switch comes out, I'd be really interested to see a direct comparison, to see how the fake compares to it.
