Had a 30min session against CPU only, no online opponents. R.Mika is solid, I loved seeing the stunner the first time! Vega was cool, but I didn't like the stance changes because it seemed like I barely needed to switch from the claws.

Excited to play tomorrow!

Without claw he gets things like a target combo (mp > hk) which he can cancel in to ex-wall dive. Also his normal wall dives don't knockdown on hit without the claw and can be combo'd in to. So there are definitely uses for each

Ok prepurchased on PC...beta access begins on 10/23. Is this correct?

Can I use my PS3 stick on my PC to play this? says in OT I need ps4 arcade stick, but does that apply for PC ? I have a TE stick and I will be pissed if I cant use it.. it's USB :/

You have to be very strategic with the claws out with Vega, a few hits and they are gone leaving alot of damage potential. Can't land wall jump > slash> V-trigger> Critical arts. Since the slash doesn't cause knockdown without the claws.

Did the old PS4 Preorder trick on Amazon, and they sent me a duplicate code for the beta... Sadness. Karma strikes, I suppose.

From what you've played or not did you switch a lot during the match?

Yeah, I switched depending on range. No claw on knockdowns for pressure, claw to poke to keep out. His forward HP kinda sucks though I like using his MP with claw as a poke and to whiff punish
 
ehhh i think r mika is just okay.

The hitbox for her AA grab is spotty even with EX.

Her grabs feel really little range and I couldn't find a kara. If she had a decent kara then its okay. Her low range can also be okay if she had something to make people be afraid of jumping. I'm not sure she has that.

st MK, cr LK, st LK (especially with the target combo) are really good. The target combo setups can feel like a good setup in pressure strings.

st LP, St MP and forward MP are solid in neutral. forward-mp seems really good if it hits.

Wished she could cancel the charge dropkick (HK). Not sure if its safe (doubt it) but feels like the risk is so high.

Not sure what her heavy booty attack is for. Can't seem to combo on most things, feel slow to just randomly throw out unlike Qbomb.

I would need to test some more (only did like 20 mins) but so far I think she is just okay.

She has a decent crossup setup with sweep. Sweep -> backdash -> forward j.LK is pretty amb and can be faked crossed up. Though landing combo after is kinda spotty.

Got one match in. Lost. Now it won't connect to anyone. Ugh.

Also, did they change the "HEYYYYY heeeeey heeeey" on the bustling side street? It sounds awful now.

A charged drop kick seems safe, I tried record the dummy on guard action to jump and we are around the same frame advantage (but I don't know if I recorded it right because it seems iffy), which means you might be able to do a grab attempt after it This would be easier to test if I had a person to play with me :(. It goes over lows, and it's a crush counter. Even if you don't get a counter hit for the CC, you can link after it with target combo or mp.

It does a ton of damage and you can combo it from a st.HP

but when are you using st hp in neutral. Its really situational at best.

It going over lows is pretty good but I feel like you would have to make a huge read since its much slower than most lows in neutral. If its safe then its much better.

So far the only thing's I've seen it combo off of is HP and if her irish whip bounces off the corner.

Not getting any matches. Might just get some Zestiria in since SFV will take over the rest of my week/weekend.
 
You can combo it from st.MP - st.HP - peach

You can also do that combo off a charged drop kick. Mika has a lot of potential for damage. It also works from her cross up.

I'll have to mess with it. Honestly I would rather do st.MP - f st.MP throw into whatever. You'll get better position control and probably better setup.

Played about an hour, didn't get any matches (in Japan ATM), but it was fun to mess with Vega and figure out if I'd like the changes, which I do. CPU level 8 is savage but fun to fight so you can at least play around and figure things out with a moving target.
 
Man, vega is super good. He feels more like ST than SF4 vega. His pokes aren't as dominant as they were in 4, but his wall dives are way better. Especially claw off. So good.

I love this character. His voice is so great.

Yeah Vega feels like Vega again, which is great for the game.
 
Was watching Max play on stream, Mika seems pretty fun. Looks like she can pull some good damage with V-Trigger, saw him drop a training dummy for like 60%. The dropkick from Nadeshiko looks like it sets up some damaging combos.

Have yet to see someone play Necalli, wonder how he is.

Side note: Max also let Benny (his dog) play and it was fucking hilarious. He got V-Trigger, grabs, and combos. XD

I wish you could do fancy cancels with his stance switch but I guess that's not what SFV is going for.

Also, Vega's V-trigger has juggle limits just in case someone figures out an infinite v-trigger glitch lol

Just got booted, but got like an hour of playtime and about 3 online matches. I'm really liking Mika, but I'm surprised at how much I'm enjoying Vega too.

Does anyone know if the online ID we chose for the Beta is permanent? Or will they probably give us another go when the game launches?

Vega can do Standing Light Kick -> Crouch Medium Punch without claw. Can confirm into EX Rolling Crystal flash even, and of course normal ones,

Also, Standing Fierce Claw canceled into stance change can then link Standing Clawless Weak Punch after.

Clawless close Roundhouse can also be linked into his Target combo, just to add extra insult to such a thing.

Does his V Skill stance twirl DO anything? I know he can slash out of it if you hold it, but does it dodge moves / projectiles or something?

I don't know how long it'll take me to remember he has the reverse fireball and P slashes. They're a neat idea, and you can combo into some of them, but I never remember they exist.
