What exactly about Necalli are people not liking anyways? I'm seeing people calling him boring etc but no one's really explaining how he's boring.

I may have made a colossal mistake. I set my region to Canada because I was being honest, but I should have picked USA. I already tried deleting my progress file and settings file but that didn't work. Is there any way to change region once you set it?

Thank god you can fight against the CPU because if matching takes region into account, I won't be getting a whole lot of real matches.

EWW! The rollback is back for me, and I'm seeing full hits of mine turn into RAINBOW THROWS from the opponent. EW EW. Nasty, hate it. The netcode seems to change every patch, lol.

Necalli... he's a cool character design, but... what else is he? Everyone else has all these "I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU HAVE THAT! THAT'S SO COOL!" stuff, but nothing for him feels great for me yet. I think I need to use his transformation much, much more.

He has a nice MK cross up! And.. err... HK stomp can lead to his super for free.. and... err... -shrug-

He's really straightforward and has very short combos/little room for creativity. Good beginner character, bad for lab monsters.

Only got to see the Beta for a few minutes last night, but I love how they updated Vega's design. That alone makes me want to use him. He looked terrible in SFIV, but looks fantastic here they way they animated him. He's never had so much style before. They really stepped up their game in the models and animation.

I really want all the Vanilla SF2 characters back for that reason alone. Most of them were wonky.

There's some good ways where she can nail some raw hurt, especially in V-Trigger, but beyond that, he's not particularly great on the mixup, and not a lot of combo variety. Another character that is just missing something.

No idea. I'm wondering how much will carry over, such as the display name you're locked into.

No idea. I'm wondering how much will carry over, such as the display name you're locked into.

I'm assuming nothing will carry over to the retail version. They'd have the sense to warn us if that were the case, right?

I wonder how much change is going to go into the Fight Money economy. If what we saw last night was fairly accurate it was 2000 FM for a Stage and I was getting 10 FM for a loss. Didn't see what the other guy earned for beating me though.

I can see easily see new characters being like 10,000-15,000 FM when this game launches.

I'm saying. Max was putting in a lot of work with Necalli in a video he put up recently.I think he looks the most interesting of the cast so far.

I actually really like him and his near-zero execution required gameplay.

What is the problem? Is there not enough people in Canada playing?
And wouldn't it make more sense to play against people on the same country as you? You know, because lag and stuff...

Necalli's Crouching Fierce Punch seems to be the best hitstun he can cancel. Thus, you can get qcf+K off it, leading to a pop-up that can be ended with his Super or a Fierce DP.

Normals combo one wants to go for is close s.MP, link s.MK->s.HK target combo, V.Skill
"seismo".

In V-Trigger mode, he can do 2 standing Weak punches into Medium or Fierce DP. In non-trigger, only the FP one seems to work.

EX Command throw leads to a DP followup from anywhere, since they do a nice job of moving him to screen center no matter where he is with it.

Are his QCF-K Stomps particularly Plus-frames or anything? Weak is the one that normally combos off stuff, medium feels like it should welcome followups but seems odd, HK only combos off crouch fierce and leads to popup followups, and the EX one does not lead to combos like I'd expect it too, compared to other crazy characters like Mika or Vega.

The 2 super animations are a nice touch. Is there any list out there for what changes for him in V-Trigger? Universally better frames? Invincibility on certain moves?

Ken is the only person I desperately wanted to play as in this beta and he's the only one out of the first four to not be playable for fucksake. I only got to play as him for like two minutes this morning but it's not enough goddammit

Well look it that way: It was never supposed to be already up, let alone Rashid playable right from the start. When it's online for real later you get lots and lots of flowchart kens ;)

Edith: I think Necallis V-Trigger just increases the damage on all his attacks for the sacrifice of no V-Reversal.
 
Is the rollback netcode fine for everybody?

Haven't had a match with no stuttering or teleporting last night or today.

I played many Americans and Japanese from Germany and it's 50/50 for me on americans. It's really bad, when there is lag and it's fine when there's none. I played someone from the uk and france once and that felt pretty much okay.
Not sure why but I was matched a lot with Japanese and two Koreans.

Are you able to challenge players through the player search feature? A friend and I managed to get in yesterday night but couldn't play each other (we live very close by) and player search only let us look at our stats. Not sure if that's all its there for.

How? Half requires you to hit forward first

Maybe it's my imagination, but I didn't do them hcb but more like qcb. Maybe I touched forward for less than a second and then did the qcb motion.

I don't think that's true, it's just that it's pretty lenient with the inputs. I think it'll consider it a half circle if you just start from down forward.
Yeah. I did most out of a dash anyways, so I guess the forward is buffered.

I live close to the US and have a good connection. I play USFIV on my US account (I recently moved to Canada so my PSN account is US) and I don't typically have lag problems.

It remains to be seen whether there are enough people in Canada playing, but the US has like 10x the population.

The beta hasn't officially started so it's nothing worth getting sad or upset about.

Are only specific people going to be able to combo ex throws? Mika can't, but I know Gief can.

Seems weird.

Wouldnt't it just be a property change from a command throw, into an attack throw? In Zangief's case, would the EX move possibly be blockable?

Other than that, crush-counter style hits also seem to allow throws. So charged normal that cause stagger style hits can combo into throws. Mika can combo into her CA, even through it seems to legit be a non-blockable throw, right? Pretty sure you can do it off charged HK, for starters.

I find it funny how Mika's off-the-wall rope throw counts as the opponents being in the air. I hope it stays that way, since the reset, AA throw use, and ability to still combo into her Command Normal MK uppercut all feel great out of the move.

Necalli isnt all that fun. Not much to else say either, none of his moves are all that interesting except his charge move which is obviously limited in its utility.
