It's weird how the updates for the beta so far have been through the PS4 internally but this latest one is through the client itself. That's weird but I'm hoping it will be fine.

Because "fuck PST/JST" and "EST 4 LAIF!!1" here are the times in the good old atlantic coast:

Wednesday 21:00 EST – beta begins for PS4: Ken, Necalli, Vega, R. Mika
Thursday 17:00 EST – Servers down for 12 hours.
Friday 05:00 EST – Servers back online. Rashid unlocked.
Friday noon EST – beta begins for PC (cross-platform play).
Friday 20:00 EST – Karin unlocked.
Saturday 07:00 EST – Servers down for 10 hours.
Saturday 17:00 EST – Servers back online.
Sunday 19:00 EST – Beta ovah.

I got tired of doing math in my head. Don't judge me.

Just cut a long promo and british bulldog them. And when the meters full go ahead and slap the booty.

I'm sure there'll be plenty of great tutorials/guides soon when people have time with her. Most important thing you can do is learn the spacing, especially for her command throws.

Deleted and downloaded the beta again: Ken was there and I was able to play the tutorial again until the v1.05 update was downloaded and the beta automatically reseted. This update seems to disable the server connection, I bet until they enable the servers.

Same here. I was in in the trainer and it prompted me in-game to download an update. Once I did it reset the beta and cannot log in

So whats the deal with this 1.05 update being in the game rather than on the main PS4 menu too.

Are they testing out sending updates via in-game? Whats the advantage of that?

Unlocking characters that are already there without forcing a new download on people, when they want to make them playable. That's why we could see Necalli in the menu despite being able to select him.


I meant, is it true that you have to redownload the whole game to get Ken ?

I thought character unlocks would work just like in MK X? i.e everyone downloads an update with the latest character. People just pay to "unlock" them.

The only benefit I can see is that Capcom can now push updates without sending the patch to Sony for Verifications purposes like other updates via PSN.


I think the Ken thing is just some weird bug , I mean we could see necalli but couldnt pick him.

the real problem is whether those updates are done while the PS4 is on rest mode or not.

maybe the update fixes the ken glitch , or makes him unlocked or selectable. I think there original plan was yesterday to start the beta with only two characters. Then using there DLC delivery system i guess thats what the update is today for. We would see Necalli and Ken show up that way.

You just convinced me to redownload the beta, then once the game starts I'll unplug my Ethernet over and over til 9. What have I become?

What are the main differences between Mika's two ground command grabs? It did seem to me like QCB+P had a bigger range than kicks but I'm not sure?

I'm pretty sure QCB+P can catch crouching opponents because she grabs the opponent's legs. Other than that I'm not too sure.
