I just tested with a Ken dummy, block srk and punish with st. HK (crush counter) in to cr HP, HK stomp, EX upper. Easy to land and does 386 damage without trigger. You can also do super instead of ex and it'd 521 without trigger.

With trigger ex upper ending does 410, super ender does 571.

EX DP has never consistently been the fastest punish. There's no telling what the fastest reversal is in this game unless without frame data.

I decided to test all dps and it seemed that Mika's HP flying peach is safe at max distance. Her only normals that are unsafe on block seems to be HP, cr.HP, and cr.HK. Doing mk really close (like face to face) also gets punished on block but I don't know why anyone would do that with this poke. Also her target combo is not a true block string, so people can mash right after the lk before mp comes out. I'm also surprised her f+HP is safe on block, since it is a juggle starter.

edit: it's a bitch to record all possible reversal options each time you switch character...

"Except that without plinking you will land your 1f link one time out of 3 even if you practiced it for over 100hours..."

I guess no one did 1f links consistently before SF4.

Oh wait.

Had my first match and won against a Necalli player.
Was a little laggy so only basics...

any R Mika easy combos?

mp > mp > mp flying peach.

Target combo which is lk > mp into mp flying peach.

mp > hp > hp flying peach

charge HK > mp > mp flying peach.

charge hk > mp > hp > hp flying peach

for a low starter you can do cr.lk > st.lp > lp flying peach

PS4 matchmacking exclusively might be working good, but incorporating PC into this might be causing these issues.

I believe that the match making system is matching based on skill level and that's probably why there are issues with it now when there weren't before.

PC cross play is likely another issue but with the Beta not live on PC yet I'd I'd imagine it's not that big if a factor, at least not yet.

There's some good ways where she can nail some raw hurt, especially in V-Trigger, but beyond that, he's not particularly great on the mixup, and not a lot of combo variety. Another character that is just missing something.

He's really straightforward and has very short combos/little room for creativity. Good beginner character, bad for lab monsters.

Necalli isnt all that fun. Not much to else say either, none of his moves are all that interesting except his charge move which is obviously limited in its utility.

I think it's easier to combo from HK stomp in to super in non-trigger than trigger. Maybe just my imagination

I have, and it's great haha

I'm trying to find some anti air jump strong shenanigans. So far it might just be an easy way to combo into super bipson's style. Aside from that the only thing i have is after you air juggle with jump strong, depending on what normal you ground reset with if you Vtrigger cancel the normal and dash forward and end up either in front or the back. stand strong xx v trigger leaves you behind stand fierce in front. Bit similar to the ex grab reset shenanigans.

same with his target combo, perfect range for j.mk crossup

My only legit gripe is that he cant cancel his target combo into anything aside from his v skill. It's not like it would be some earth shattering thing.

And if you wanna add a bit more damage :

(charge HK/Jump hp ) mp > hp > f+vtrigger > hp > assist hits > wingless airplane

Ken damage does seem a little loweron the whole but I did find that he can get 350+ meterless from st.hk in footsies and 400 with a jump in if he has V-Trigger. ready to activate.

What? I like the character. I love that he requires virtually no skill in execution (aside from the obnoxious super cancel.) I can actually follow along and do these setups/cross-unders and its AWESOME. But if you're a James Chen-type who goes and loves doing every trial from 1-20 for every character, you're going to hate him because he doesn't reward that shit in the least.

His combos seem about as complex as anyone else in SFV so far though, and he definitely has high ceiling for what he's capable of. I was all sad on my way home thinking he'd be a boring simple character but he's far from it.

I have a variation of this that does a bit more damage.

MP > HP > f+vtrigger >HP > assist hits > charge HK > ex wingless airplane

Very fun to do :D

Is there anything you can link off of an overhead crush counter with nacalli. Also having trouble finding something that links after a farther st.hk crush counter as well

Finally got a match, beat some Ken but I didn't put much of what I practiced in to action. Now to wait another 4 hours qq

Your really good execution skills might be blinding you a little on this one. :p Compare him to say, Vega, where you have to consider screen positioning (which side/how close to wall), juggle potential, claw on/off, v-trigger available or no, CH or no, etc., all on the fly- he's really complicated in a way Necalli isn't.

the most damaging combo (with no meter) I have personally found with mika is like

st. mp - f. st mp throw (any direction including midscreen) wall bounce - f. hp - anti air move

though its a bit finicky landing the last part

instead of the f.hp do a charge HK into medium anti air. That does a little bit more damage.

Got one match in after waiting one hour. We both picked Mika. We both did the full speech at the same time and I grabbed him and won. lol saved that replay.

Finally got a match and it was against Vega. He's still as annoying to fight as ever, just constantly jumping around or rolling. -__-

I thought they took out cross up tatsus? Ken can get a basic combo off a deep cross up air tatsu. Definitely needs to be deep enough to not be so ambiguous as before, so maybe that's good enough for them.

Ok Capcom have issues with the matchmaking but HOW CAN WE UNLOCK KANZUKI ESTATE WITHOUT MATCH?!!

Sadly even with a match, you get no fight money. I had 2 matches with Necalli and won them both, but no fight money earned. Also it isn't recording my matches like yesterday. I have a 0 matches played in my profile and doesn't show a history of who I fought. So that is probably what Capcom was referring to when they said they ran into some issues, their fight network is having problems, even though it was working somewhat yesterday.

I came to the conclusion that characters with DPs have lesser damage output per combo (which doesn't necessarily matter). Seems likely to be a conscious decision on Capcom's part. Ken does feel very balanced / beginner friendly, like a different flavor of Ryu. All around, doesn't excel at any one thing. I'm okay with that.

Also, not sure if this is an old build or what, but Ken and Mika both can link jab into other normals into special/super. I thought that was gone, but it doesn't seem particularly useful; at least it isn't multiple jabs like that beta 1 Cammy nonsense.

lol, that's awesome. That's some fight money high stakes cowboy shit lol.

I think it's like Nash. They allowed them to go from lights into their target combos, since Mika can do lp > lk > mp into flying peach. To get rid of it, they basically would have to make her lk too slow to combo from her lp. The damage seems rather scaled though, so I don't think it's a big issue.
