This is some asinine reasoning right there. Deliberately creating a lackluster play environment is not the "intention" no matter which way you slice it.

A worldwide online beta cannot be properly stress tested if 95% of the matches suffer from blatant rollback because they insist that I (and others I know) should play against people on the other side of the globe.

You can set the opponent to be controlled by player two and disable automatic health generation, super and vtrigger and you can have proper fights until the game finds someone.

Ever since this morning the biggest search for an opponent for me was like 5 mins, most of the time under 2.

Too bad this is at the cost of no lp or fight money.

Yes

You can set the opponent to be controlled by player two and disable automatic health generation, super and vtrigger and you can have proper fights until the game finds someone.

Only issue is, as far as I can tell you can only play one round at a time. So the meter resets every round, which makes meter management and critical arts useless.

I like how the Shoryureppa is just his EX DP now. Things like that show how the character has improved.
