Played 2 matches against Cammy players that know what the hell they're doing. I have a lot of learning to do. But I have to sleep.

I wish I had time to learn but I was getting matches pretty quick.

Yea it's a lot better now. The eye make-up looks good and the eyebrow doesn't look weird.

Hopefully they tune Karin's face like Cammy, although I kind don't mind how she looks right now.

The beta isn't for you to learn the game, it's to test the netcode for the billionth time.

I already went through this with the night crew. Get off your high horse. I give less than a shit about Capcom's objectives in this "sneak peak" I had to buy the game to have access to. Knowing what I'm doing gives me a reason to actually play the game instead of shut it off.

What is the trick?

Just pausing the menu here and there seems to interrupt matchmaking. Usually what I do when I'm testing stuff.

edit: Just fought my first Karin that knew what she was doing...fuck.,

I think I played you, I was BlackYoshi, I steal all my stuff from Max's streams.
 
Ryu nerfs:

f+hp - cr.hp does NOT combo
Light Tatsu into EX SRK doesn't work (Corner)
EX Tatsu into EX Hadoken doesn't work (Corner)
st.mp - cr.hk doesn't work
Medium Tatsu doesn't hit crouching opponents anymore
Both of his Critical Art's don't hard knockdown anymore
st.lk > special seems gone
Nerfs from Denjin Mode include reduced stun from charged hadoken, every hadoken drains more meter and general damage nerfs across the board.
Parry builds less meter too.

Man he get hit hard as fuck .
Want to call it a night but the game is calling out to me lol .

Well they have to nerf characters before they can buff them ;P

I feel that they always want 1 or 2 characters to be Top Tier when making a SF game instead of creating a balanced game initially

What ever happened to buffing weak characters rather than nerfing strong characters? I thought that was a stated design philosophy for SFV.

Game isn't out yet. And the balancing definately isnt finalized.

This is a beta. I though the whole idea that everything can and will change should be accepted

Wow, I don't know if it's more changes to the character or just me, but I'm doing much better with Nash in this beta than the last one.

Did his f+MK get buffed or did I just not realize before how good it is? :lol
cr,MP anti-air seems to work better at least.

I was gonna try to play some Karin after DTN but I see nothing but SF fiends on so I decided to take a break and play doa instead.

I got some more vids for GAF on doa characters though.

So I just realized that I've been playing for 12 hours straight. Whoops.. Lol

Hit rank 2500 rank as a first time Vega player. Things are finally starting to click.. sometimes.

I found a bug in the replay system. It plays the wrong match with the wrong players. Here it is:

Now that I think about it, it also ranks players incorrectly, not always displaying # first. not sure if that's a bug though, I might just be misunderstanding something.

It's not netcode related so I'm not sure if I should report it to capcom, and if so, which twitter account. Anyone knows or wants to do it for me?

I feel like Ryu will always be the ideal character to learn the fundamentals of Street Fighter. No other character can match him in that regard, I feel.

That's what I've been doing, but after all my spacing work other characters just blow me up cause they have crazy (and fast moving) specials Ryu doesn't and I don't know the matchups well enough to know to block high/low etc. So their specials are wrecking my attempt at a spacing game for the moment. Ryu still is probably a good base, but damn it'll be awhile before I learn how to block things well.
 
Is Karin good? I can't tell. I just keep bodying all the Karin players. Also Mika is not that good. Once you know where to stand she can't do anything it feels like.

Well what can I say ? First of all I'd like you guys to show up here more because usually I have 5 dudes telling me i'm wrong and they look awesome.

But I guess we should mass tweet at capcom to hire a 3D artist that can make faces that don't look like actual butts.

Crush counter b.HP for Chun is great. Seems pretty easy to meaty them with on wake-up. If they try and press anything, you can just combo into sweep. On block, b.HP is a bit plus so you're next to them with frame advantage.

I started trying to find more situations where v-trigger activation makes sense. With Chun I started buffering st.HP into v-trigger. On block, I'm at a range where I want to be at what looks to be +0 (very safe activation). On hit, you can easily hit confirm during the VT activation freeze and do cr.MK xx medium SBK for pretty nice damage and a knockdown.

Try chun. Her normals are super good and lightning legs is essentially a projectile substitute now.

Getting the quick dash upper with Karin is a pain for me but I finally got down the correct way to do it but will still need to get into muscle memory.

cr.lk>st.lp>236k~p>214k>super is pretty cool off a crouching light attack.
