Street Fighter V F.A.N.G Gameplay

"Mash" moves aren't too bad. I play Chun and I play on fight pad. Mashing is one way to do it, but not the optimal way. Try something like lk, lk, then mk. The mk will do lightning kick. The lk's buffer the kicks. No mashing required.

Now try to do that with a Dualshock or any other non-fightpad. In SFIV you need 5 presses in a very short period of time to activate. While it is possible to do it in a way of mashing and pianoing, it's still extremely bothersome. There is a good reason why SFxT didn't have it either.

These characters(Chun, Gen, Blanka and Honda) are also the only ones I can not use due to those specific moves, their execution and the importance of those moves in their respective gameplan.

Have you tried playing piano style? It's key to pulling this off.

We don't know, hell, Juri could be the first one out.

logic says it will just follower the order they showed in the picture alex/guile/balrog/ibuki/juri/urien

you start out strong with alex character not seen in a while that people would be eager to play have some fluff guys in the middle then end strong with juri and urien another long time MIA character

ps. before i hurt anyones feelings what i mean by fluff is guys that were just in SF4 or long time core characters

Surely a more interesting charge Zoner introduction for a new game than Guile.

The fancy 2 hit normals suggest the idea that you WANT to do a bit of rushdown with him. Good, good. I like the fact the forward moving projectile presents very little risk, not even knocking people out of their moves. Taking a bit of poison in order to hurt F.A.N.G might be worth it, but it also can be bait to follow up with his quick recovery.

The arc'd fireballs are different enough from 'sim to not feel like overlap.

I could see myself liking him a lot more than Rufus, Hakan, of El Fruity. Poison has been in a bunch of other fighters in the past, and I'm intrigued with how it'll fit into SF. It's slow enough so that it looks less like a lame-out tool, and more like a pester and agitation tool.

How can one play piano style with 4 face buttons? There are ways to off set the issues like putting more on the shoulder button for faster pressing. That doesn't mean it is less bothersome. Even 1-Frame links are not as bad as them, imo.

The whole thing would be probably much less of a problem if they did it like MvC3 requiring only 3 presses. Even Omega mode reduced it to 4.

These type of moves not being present in SFxT and SFV speaks for itself.

the design is definitely jarring and left me with a negative impression at first. Its definitely 'out there' but after a bit I'm used to it and its actually a pretty cool design.

NOWHERE near the painful lows of Rufus/El Fuerte and not boring like Abel.

I hope to never see those characters again.

Just saw the video from YouTube
So fang has gen/iori's cross up jump kick but it hits twice, that's really good
The horizontal projectile doesn't have hitbox? The 2 lob projectiles are probably better most of the times
He also can lie down flat on the floor so you can evade horizontal projectiles

Edit: just found out he's charge...
Both him and necalli have charge :<

Was the same for me. Btw, is he supposed to look like a vulture (bird)?

I don't get the hate for ElF's costume. He's a poorly designed character mechanically, but his costume is classic SF in that it clearly conveys his fighting style with just a hint of racism.

What I find interesting is, that this is the first time a new SF gets released that people are complaing about charging..

At least it feels to me like that...

Charging has been such an integral part of SFs DNA since SFII, how can you even have an argument about it?

His crossup is a Mortal Kombat air kick. I mean, the kick changes direction when it goes on the other side. Visible at 14:49 and probably other places.

Guys? I don't think f.a.n.g is human. Maybe an android? His head doesn't look like it houses a brain. And he can fly?

He also looks stupid. So I don't think he is human.

Oh, and there's his name. Fun Acrobatic New Gadget? Sounds like a robot to me.

Not a bad theory.

Well, he is a mad scientist. He probably altered himself with SCIENCE!

It seemed like you could eat the poison but avoid hitstun by attacking the orbs? If that's the case, he shouldn't be that bad to deal with.

Still think his design sticks out like a stiff dick in the wind, but his playstyle seems fine. Fireball spam like that gief gif won't make it past week 3.
From what I remember, ground orbs carry no hitstun but the anti air ones do

Some people want access to all characters but don't want to learn how to use charge or 360 move sets. They don't know or don't care that changing a character like Guile to use motion commands either turns him into a completely different character at best or a completely broken one at worst.

Guile turned out well in SSFIV 3DS with touch specials enabled.

What costume are you talking about? He's just a luchador. I don't know how that's racist, but: That he's a luchador who is also obsessed with and named all of his moves after Mexican food, however, is straight-up Street Fighter flagrant stereotyping nonsense.

Just talking about his default outfit in response to this post:

I don't think it's that bad, honestly.

I'm redownloading the video to host on YouTube again. Hopefully it doesn't mess up the footage like last time.

Does he have a legitimate reversal (with or without meter)?

All this "top tier/OP" talk reminds me of Dudley's reveal for Super. Look how that turned out... It took three updates to make him decent.

He has the dash out with meter, that's it.
