Man, nothing has changed. Rage quitting still the same, taking longer to find matches, I just fought a guy with a lot of lag, it took over 6 min to finish because of lag

I played some ranked matches after servers went back up but it kept saying failed to send results. Then I played a set in battle lounge, and it ran totally fine, but we did keep seeing messages about sending results failed, even though it doesn't matter in that mode. I don't really care about points or rank to be honest. I love playing sets against people because we can get a feel for the pace of the opponent. Plus, it gives many chances for me to get warmed up. I'm actually one of those people who actually do get a slight gut feeling before any kind of match tbh, but after the 1st match, I'm usually in the zone.

Half the matches were fine and then the other half I got the error messages. At least we know something is consistent with the game...

Knowing the pain of getting a rank downgrade makes it so satisfying when you do it to someone else.

And of course, just as I type this, I get another match against the same Birdie and lose

GAF pls, what do I do against Bipson & Necalli (I'm a Karin main)?
Bison is + on a lot of his pokes so don't needlessly press buttons or your going to get hit HARD. st FP is + on block and he can cancel it into inferno which makes getting hit a horrible idea I got murdered earlier and I know better. His standing HK is also + on block. He is really good in this game.

I'm connecting to matches a hell of a lot quicker than yesterday

I'm also getting my ass kicked, and continue to be making stupid mistakes

Does any fighting game have built in leagues amd divisions with playoffs kind of like EA sports games? I would be super happy if SF implemented something like that

If you want some Necalli experience, add me on CFN (Sneakers) and come play me in a battle lounge. 2579 is the password.

This goes for anyone. If you wanna play my Necalli, just join my battle lounge. Sneakers on CFN, password is 2579.

Im feeling good right now. Last night was the first night I played and went 0-8 in casual play. Tonight I spent some time vs the cpu then went into casual and went 2-2. wew!

Concentrating on Rashid. After not fairing well with cammy, Rashid seems to be my guy. Finding a ton of Ken's online. Is he the defaulto starting character?

Him or Ryu. New players feel safe having a character they can Spam DPs with. Just keep that in mind when you see them.

His st.HP is actually like -6 on block, so it's more punishable if not canceled though characters with an invincible reversal can in some cases just stuff the reversal between st.HP and whatever he's cancelling into. df.HP is +1 but isn't special cancellable.

I think the only reason I'd want Microsoft to be the ones to support SFV instead of Sony is because they'd be more equipped to handle this server bullshit.

I feel like bison is OP in this game, at least from all the training I've done against the top level cpu ai. It's seems as if nothing he throws out is punishable. He's the only ai I can't beat although, I am a Mika player. To be fair though, I haven't tried against Chun Li yet, whom I also suspect is very strong.

What if I told you that they had a bit of an oopsie a while ago

Also it's Capcom, not Sony, natch

Yes, but they're working with Sony. I assume there's a number Capcom can call where they can say "oopsie, we shit the bed. Please help" and they'd get Sony's networking geniuses on the case.

Just lost to a Ken player who mashed DP through blockstrings.

In a longer set I would have just adapted and baited them out, no problem, but with this two round nonsense it's hard. It's a pain in the ass. You don't get much opportunity to learn the matchups, and gimmicky crap like that has the opportunity to work.

Sure, it doesn't happen often. I mean generally, I managed to forsee it and punish them, or whatever, but every bad player takes a game once in a while and the 2 round system offers greater opportunity to take advantage of that, but that's why every tournament runs best of 3 or 5, yet ranked on SFV does not.

Oh well.

"So maintenance didn't do any to improve the servers?"

I'm getting matches faster and going from getting a match to actually playing the match much faster as well.

Same thing happened to me yesterday. Super annoying but more of the fact that I should have been better than to let that beat me. The guy was garbage. He would mix up light DP and double up when I got close then do a big DP then grab when I thought he would DP. I don't think he did any other moves the whole match and I can't believe I let that beat me.

sometimes scrub tactics are unpredictable. Don't overthink it, and outplay yourself.

Yeah, probably not in a timely manner, if at all.

I would be surprised if they offered any real support. Sony took some 6 months to fix Twisted Metal, and that game was first party. Having people come and fix Capcom's backwards ass netcode would probably be a right pain in the ass.

Half of it's probably copy pasted from GGPO anyway. Based on how the game performs, despite not sporting the GGPO logo, it runs like someones attempted to ape the GGPO netcode and obviously, screwed up a little.

The issues seem far more pervasive than simply server load. How the game seems to deal with latency broadly, is messed up. I just had a match where it was lagging horribly, neither of us could move. I kept pressing heavy kick anyway though with Rashid.

After about 30 seconds the game unfroze, and screamed 'PERFECT KO'. I had killed my opponent with Rashid, the server was logging and running the inputs all along, it just wasn't communicating that information with the two clients (players).
