Zangief...is top 6? (players used)I don't like AA jabs, but currently Alex gets DESTROYED by shallow jump ins. It was just killing me yesterday. EX air knee strike and crouching heavy punches won't stop people from doing shallow jumps. Alex needs an oki buff on EX air knee strike, a higher vertical hitbox on st.HP or f.HP (because screw AA jabs) and slight range extensions on powerbombs across the board at minimum. Dude is still incomplete after two balance updates. Sadly I think those are the only possible changes Capcom would implement. In my mind he still needs things like a spiral DDT (EX version being grab invincible from frames 1-6) that gives oki and special cancels on his current crouching medium punch (yeah, he doesn't need the godlike frame data, hitboxes and hurtboxes if he gets cancels). Unfortunately I don't see those buffs incoming even if Alex voice data shows that they hadn't forgotten spiral DDT.
Man, Capcom's uneven distribution of stuff really gets to me when ASW can promise one new move for every character in their roster. Thank God Cammy and Zangief can get new 1 and 3 new moves, though. Lord knows they needed help as 2 of the top six most used characters. :I

Is this Smug's biggest payday ever for a tourney? He sure reacted like it was.
When you trash talk and teabag a guy and get beaten twice by him.
Looking at his SRK rank page, he might've won similar amounts when winning tournaments like NEC: http://rank.shoryuken.com/rankings/player/byname/Smug#USF4Is this Smug's biggest payday ever for a tourney? He sure reacted like it was.

If Ed is going to be dlc, I want him to have a mix of bison and rog's moveset somehow.

Aesthetically maybe, but not mechanically. Much more of a fan of a new character being their own thing and not a mishmash of pre-existing ideas.
I'd be so hype for Ed, though. Would main.
The issue I have with a lot of these new characters that are in V but aren't playable is that they're pretty boring visually. If they gave Ed a different outfit then maybe.
They did it with Kolin. Obviously they're not going to just stick a kid in jorts and a hoodie into the game. .. right?

Can you explain what *this* is? (I'm assuming it's a punish on the V-skill?)Posting this again because I just tried this against a scrubby Rog and it worked. Ended up eating half as much damage as usual and won the set.

What's crazy is that this is all in the frame data, yet nobody really employs it.

So it seems like there's just a timing you can do, while getting hit/blocking dash punches?
While blocking or getting hit by his dash punches, wait for the punch to connect, wait x amount of frames. Press a button. (don't mash, cos you don't want to get hit by the delayed vskill p mix up)
Covers:
dash punch into delayed vskill p (you block, punish -4)
dash punch into vskill k (you block, punish -...8?)
dash punch into empty vskill low (you counter hit the low, perhaps even punish the empty vskill?)
Which means dash punch into vskill, against a properly prepared opponent, isn't a mix up at all, the only option Balrog truly has is to finish dash punching and go for the dash punch ender, or non-delayed vskill p ender.
This is like with Ken's overhead/overhead feint+low, there is no mix up, if you press a button at the right time, you block Ken's overhead and don't get your button because you're in block stun, or if he's gone for feint you beat that clean because feint has such a long recovery time. I do this all the time accidentally against Ken's who try to feint+low because they use it during a time where it's natural to be delay teching (meaty wake up).
Basically people need to start pressing buttons at the right time against Balrog, and he'll never get his combos into resets. If you deny him those by learning the match up then you've just made Balrog much easier to deal with. This is probably why Balrog is not getting any nerfs. Capcom's just like "... guys, come on... we've designed those resets to be beatable, so learn to beat them."

I'm positive an announcement on content is coming next week, but just in case.
You know the deal, Capcom. You have until Wednesday.

I just discovered my new favourite stat website - V-League.
Stupid cool site. Uses CFN to build player profiles and do easy ladder searches and whatnot. Also holds replay info for huge numbers of matches for top players.
Here's my profile page:

My W/L is abysmal at 54%. BUT thanks to the stats, I can see my W/L this month has been 66%, much closer to the 75% or so I'll need to be running at to grind to Super Diamond.
They can call it the Street Fighter III costume pack.Well if nothing else, jorts and a hoodie would be a good dlc costume incentive.
You just now found out about this? People have been using it here for ages. It's definitely really cool, just kinda sad Capcom didn't have their own CFN website for this kind of stuff.
