Ya'll already have an imaginary mechanic in mind when Vtrigger pretty much acts the way I'm seeing people suggest. lol

VT can't cancel specials tho.

Probably bullshit, but no harm in speculating about pros and cons in case Capcom have ideas.

They can add motherfucking flight for all I care, I just want them to nerf dashes.

Dashes are the most scrubby thing in this game. In the sense that you HAVE to respect them and be ready for constant punishes. That thought gives incredible strength in the neutral to players that didn't earn that strength. I don't fear players, I fear their ability to randomly create pressure that's hard to react to.

They could always just take that ability away from the VTs that have it. Those characters would just be able to special cancel more often at the cost of giving up V-Reversals and potentially not being able to VT during a round.

Sure...but, it's something that already exists in the game, right now. Why is everybody acting like this is FADC reborn or something? lol. The way people are describing it sounds exactly like what we have now.

Seriously, I don't get the appeal. Also, it's even more fucking offense. You give Ryu the ability to v cancel his fireballs or whatever to help his zoning, then he'll just use it for fucking knockdown set ups.
 
The way it was described to me, I don't think VC will be too similar to what's already in the game or SFIV. If they can't make it unique, it's kapoots for VC.

Oh, no idea about all the FADC doomsaying. I'm not against a dedicated cancel mechanic since it's pretty much in the game as you say, just speculating that the rumored V-Modes might be a way to make players commit to an offensive or evasive playstyle instead of having it all like with FADC.

My expectations are as low as they can get. I am expecting to get a S3 character announced, if we are lucky a stage. Maybe some balance changes will be announced, but no fine details. These are the lowered expectations that Capcom has trained me to have.

Necalli is fine, won't be touched.

Juri's pinwheel will now have a shittier hitbox.

Ryu's fireball is removed and replaced with Donkey kick.

If they want people to jump into season 3 and they have favorite characters coming back, they need to cut out the mystery crap, and at least say who's coming.

Agreed. Did you see Alex's frame-perfect range-perfect way to beat Cammy's raw CA? Absolutely broken.

If they want people to jump into season 3 and they have favorite characters coming back, they need to cut out the mystery crap, and at least say who's coming.
We need Flowtron to leak everybody again so Capcom is forced to reveal them like Season 1.

Listen, they are just balancing off of Ryu. He is a good middle ground after all. Some characters just have to be worse than him.

I just don't want it to start making shit easier for stronger characters. Universal mechanics sometimes favor the already top tiers.

I hope they get leaked if they try to hide them again while selling them. Really, knowing who the characters were in name did not lessen the excitement for gameplay reveals to any significant degree, especially with SFV having so many redesigns.

Didn't the season one characters get revealed because story mode was coming out, and that featured every one of them? So far my impression is that Capcom will ignore leaks entirely, and just follow whatever schedule they've already decided upon.

I think they were datamined with one of the betas. They had files on there for them.

Add buffs to Laura, Rashid, Urien, Balrog, Akuma while we are at it.

At Capcom Cup?

I would only expect the S3 character and his/her stage. Balance details will probably be posted the day before the S3 character releases (which is what they did last time).
 
Sometimes it feels like Ken's nerfs were to make room for Akuma lol.

- loss the c.mk meaty after forward throw
- Akuma has it

- Cant c.MP two times in a row 3 frame move gets through
- Akuma has it

- C.MK was horrible, now gets worse without throw setup
- Akuma's c.Mk is super buff lol

I do hope even returning characters have a lot of variety between them, because I don't won't characters nerf because they are too similar. Personally all I want back from Ken is his 5 frame c.mp and for ex Tatsu to not be stuffed my almost every normal in the game. I really think that would give a more even chance against the top tier. There's really no safe way to get in on Guile for example. I feel that match is impossible to win in a FT10 or something, you can only play crazy and reckless and catch them off guard. But it's really not a balanced matchup now that Ken can't Tatsu his way in.

I hope these types of things are addressed in S3. Capcom has the right ideas, but they are still too heavy with the nerf stick. Just keep buffing and see what players come up with.

Hoping Capcom reverts grey damage recovery to what it was in S1. I only play Ryu as it is, and anyone who makes use of armored normals and specials seem to take that damage no matter what. It just puts more pressure on them to go nuts and try and not let me attack and then I just throw out a s.Lk and they eat all that damage anyway because they lost patience.
 
Worse example of all though and the result that flies on the face of Capcom saying "we're not going to majorly nerf, but buff weaker characters" is in Ryu going from unanimous no.3 in the game to possible the worse.

Like come on, how did anyone not see those balance changes would make him that weak? That was really horrible, and I feel really sad for anyone maining Ryu and had so much of their efforts squandered by balance changes.

I'm really rooting for Capcom to hit a homer with S3. Just make 90% of the cast strong again, I think everyone will be happy for a solid 6 months until cheap stuff shows it's head.

@VarientX I agree. The grey damage is kinda stupid now. Really don't understand he change.
 
Reverting the grey damage shitcans Bison and Rashid though. It could also make Abigail too strong. A halfway point would be better tho.

Yeah, this is another reason why I want everyone to have 3-bar VCs. Activation should just be a potential cancel like an RC and pressing HP+HK again brings out whatever move is associated with the VT, if any (ex: teleport, bomb, Aegis Reflector, tornado, etc). That way the game has a universal RC mechanic without really changing things.

Plus, like in BB canceling into the VT on block/hit cuts its remaining time in half. The benefits to that is bullshit like Rog turning his overhead safe gives himself half his follow punches so he can't go failed mix-up > cancel > successful mixup > huge damage.

Of course, weaker VTs would need buffed to justify taking 3 bars. Like I'd probably give Mika two Nadeshikos and Nash two teleports.

Selling your costumes to undercut Capcom selling their own seems like an obvious dmca, making it appear some other way is disingenuous.

Yeah, it would be bullshit if Capcom got raked over the coals for this. Modders were charging money, of course they'd get DMCA'd.

Capcom is one of the better companies concerning fan work. They license their IPs for free to games like MegaMan Vs. Street Fighter so they don't have to send a cease and desist. Otherwise they aren't legally protecting their IPs which can cause then to lose their rights to the IPs.
 
There's a difference between voluntary donations and putting up a paywall. I don't care how oily Ibuki's boobs are, you can't make somebody pay for that and not expect a legal reaction.

Yeah, I would not be surprised if their putting those mods behind a paywall, even if time-limited, was what motivated Capcom to intervene. You might be able to get away with it if your work was entirely original, but not when your work is based on assets ripped from the game.

Some peoples were just behind a paywall. One guy had thrown a fit and just kind of stopped publicly releasing his mods
