Street Fighter V Roster Discussion |Thread 2| Deal with it & place your hope for DLC

Yes, read the post - after the server reset at launch on Tuesday:

- FighterID will need to be re-aquired/re-registered
- Fight Money will be zero'd out
- League Points and Online Rank will be reset
- Player Level will be reset
- Per-character Level and EXP will be reset
- Rank/Casual Match fight history will be reset

Everyone will need to re-claim their CFN ID.
So if someone were to beat the story mode with all the characters on 9PM Monday, would all their earned fight money be lost?

I'm sure these videos have been posted around this thread already but I feel like they should be in the OT. By far the most well made and informative on Street Fighter V I've found.

Ah, as we near the release date, let's get some little known facts going about SF.

Yes let's keep this going lol

Street Fighter holds the Guinness Record (2011) for being “The Most Prolific Fighting Game Series” . The game got this honor for being the fighting game franchise with the most number of versions (133 at the time).

Trivia: that whole "Sheng Long" as secret boss thing comes from a mistranslation of "Shoryuken", the translators didn't know it's a move.

Anyone know the earliest unlock time on steam?
I'm going to VPN the shit out of this game.
I'm tempted to do that. Do people do that all the time with new releases and is it safe? Wouldn't it get me banned from Steam?

Read some posts back, no the game unlocks worldwide at the same time 9am PST Feb 16.

Ken and Guile are related! Their wives are sisters.

Not sure where to ask this, but I have a mechanics question: If I do a meaty sweep on their wake up, is the opponents only option to block? Can they jump? Would a hypothetical 1 frame move beat a meaty attack?

An invincible move, like a good uppercut, or a move with armor on the first frame would also beat it.

That's some impeccable editing.

These are also good.

So is Ryu's parry actually...useful? Other than building V gauge? It seems like it leaves you at the same, or possibly even worse advantage than blocking normally.

I love the Guile and Ken being related thing. And I wonder who Laura's brother is.

We all know Adon got his shit pushed in by Ryu in SF1. But did you know it only took a single shoryuken?

I love all the little bits of pointless SF trivia.

I seriously can't get enough of it. There is so much, too, but it's scattered and untranslated. Most people don't even know the plot guide houses bits of cool info like that. Capcom even detailed what some fireballs feel like!

lol @ dudes being salty over people getting early copies.
Lol @ people expecting to keep server side FM, Colours, costumes and LP from a game not out for days.

I can get it early but I'm too lazy. Everyone should be on an even scale come the 16th.

Just replayed Rashid's story after the server reset, and earned back my FM. So, it resets, but you're able to earn it back? Not sure what's going on.

Is it normal on GAF for people to not read the previous posts (even the last 20) before posting? People are asking the same questions that have been answered 10 posts or 1 page prior lol

Even scale? Unlocking color 3 before you doesn't give me a competitive edge brah. You can't even spend money on anything for a month.

The game isn't officially out yet. Chances are they're still doing last-minute server work, including stat-resets, before Tuesday. As such things are sporadically going back to normal before the next bout of server-work happens.

Alternatively, Capcom are deliberately pissing off people who are playing the game before they're supposed to be.

Part of the game no need to get mad but it's the nature of the beast when you get a game early.

In some matchups its very good, it makes moves like Bisons devils reverse nearly useless, as Ryu can parry it on reaction and punish, same with Nash flip, Chun ia legs, etc. In matchups where there's no easily parry-able moves, its still good for making them hesitate. Ryu has stubby limbs so he tends to get bullied by long range normals, but all it takes is one good parry to make someone hesitate to press a button.

So it does leave you at more of an advantage than blocking?

I assume it matters on what move you're parrying. Moves that normally leave you in long blockstun are probably good candidates. I bet we'll eventually get big lists of which moves you should block and which you should parry.

The only thing I'm really upset about is the colors. Everything else is completely fair. It's just that Survival Mode is kinda tedious. Don't know why I didn't learn my lesson after the first time it reset.

On a positive note, training mode is awesome. Not only do your recordings save after you close the game, but they remain character specific. Massive improvement over SFIV. Haven't been following the game too much, so not sure if this is news to anyone.

Yeah, it's pretty common. This goes for forums in general though.

Bisons devils reverse is + on block and Bison can mix you up after, if you parry it can punish with s.mp. Most mediums, heavies, and specials are punishable if parried.

Ah I see. Makes sense. It just feels a little weird in this game, but good to know it will have it's uses.

Don't forget that you can parry multiple hits, like a buffered move like cr.mk xx hadouken or if someone wants to chip you out with super. It'll definitely have its uses.

WBacon on the Steam Forums just confirmed what everyone was guessing about launch day

- FighterID will need to be re-aquired/re-registered
- Fight Money will be zero'd out
- League Points and Online Rank will be reset
- Player Level will be reset
- Per-character Level and EXP will be reset
- Rank/Casual Match fight history will be reset

effects both Steam and PS4 versions

I feel bad for people who already made good amount of fight money but I guess it might be fair for everyone to start at same time.

is there anyway that I can trade my Bison DLC costume code for a Chun Li one? or are the psn chun codes automatically included in the download? dammit I hope that they let me unlock it

Quick question - I'm enjoying this early copy my friend got and think I might pick it up for myself. Could I theoretically sell my Street Fighter IV Xbox 360 Tournament Edition fightstick for enough money to buy a copy of SFV and a SFV Fightstick Alpha?
