Street Fighter X Tekken E3 Trailer and Info

I'm guessing this won't happen - it's "Street Fighter" not "Capcom" X Tekken. But I hear you - it would be nice for Capcom to have some variations. I'm so sick of the SF cast.

Actually Rival School/Project Justice happens to be in same universe (and maybe same timeline) as Final Fight and Street Fighter.

Aren't they making Hwoarang into a Juri clone more or less?

Well other than the requisite Korean player dive kick move (which doesn't even look the same at all) none of Hwoarangs moves look anything like Juri's. I'd love her to be in it to be his rival.

As far as Hwoarang is concerned I've not seen anyone do a series of low kicks with him (you know, the Tekken d lk lk lk lk that hits low and launches). SURELY that combo is in the game, it's my favorite thing to do with him!

The fuck are you talking about, eh?

Juri was one of the only new characters i liked. She would make a perfect counterpart to hwoarang. speaking of hwoarang his inclusion is almost 100% confirmation of no beak which is a shame because i feel he would gel well with the sf universe. also how about bruce as a adon/sagat rival.

didnt he lose it going into t6 i seem to remember him having some 3333 move.

From d+3,3 you can go to left flamingo and do other moves, but there's no d+lk,lk,lk,lk string that launches.

Juri and Makoto would be great fits with existing Tekken characters.

Question for you people. Would you prefer two similar characters say Fei and Law or simply have one to cover the style and use the other slot for someone more unique?

I keep thinking of all the awesome teams and rivalry's possible between similar fighters but then think it could just be a waste of a slot better served to flesh out the other fighting styles.

I'd prefer similar characters if I had any investment in the SF or Tekken characters as characters.

But I don't. So unique for me.

Or rather, I only want Alisa announced in addition to Cole and Lili, maybe like Raven or Zafina or something, and then they can put in 20 variations of Sean for all I care.

they are only similar in appearance, both plays very differently, so i don't see a problem gameplay wise.

I'll be honest, Hwoarang looks a lot like Kim Kaphwan more so than Juri.

His stance you mean? Yeah. Which is dumb. Why doesn't he retain proper TKD stance? Namco never dared to change it since 98 as shitstorm would ensue.

Not just his stance, he also looks like he has Kim's qcb+k splits kick:

and his hunting hawks looks a tad bit too similar to

along with the Dive Kick:

That's pretty much it for SF x T videos, but I might upload one more. Its some casuals between floe and marn and a few other people just messing around, but seth gives some cool insight on the game during this segment before the tourney. Ill probably upload it next week after I finish posting some other ssf4/mvc3 tourney footage.

VegaMan caught up with Seth Killian at the NorCal Regionals #9 to ask a few questions about Street Fighter X Tekken and he sent in a transcript of their conversation. Here's the run down.
VegaMan: When can we expect the next major update regarding Street Fighter X Tekken?

Seth: We should have a little something at Comic-Con and EVO is coming up soon as well.

VegaMan: How does the scaling work in SFxT when you are hitting both of your opponent's characters at the same time?

Seth: It's not set yet.

VegaMan: Will the life bars be changes to be a bit more visible in SFxT?

Seth: Yeah, we're doing something about that. We understand having orange on orange with glowing orange borders is not easy to see.

VegaMan: I've noticed a lot of timeouts in both E3 and here. Will anything be adjusted like life bars or damage because of this?

Seth: Remember MvC3? Everyone said that was going to be a problem then, but it's not much of a problem now. The problem is that people just didn’t know how to play the unreleased game yet. They hadn't learned the good combos, or the strong mix-ups. It's the same thing now. Since most of them have only played for a few minutes, or maybe an hour, nobody really knows how to play the game yet. The timeout situation will probably resolve itself as people learn how to play it.

VegaMan: What do fans need to do to ensure that GGPO is incorporated into future Capcom games? In particular, fighting games?

Seth: I've been pushing that ever since I came to Capcom four years ago and it took until Street Fighter 3 Online Edition to actually get implemented into a fighting game. One of the problems is that with 3D game like SFxT, we are basically using all of the PS3's processing power. And although it's very difficult to incorporate a rollback function I don’t believe it's impossible. If fans really want something like this implemented then the best advice I can give is to tell other people at Capcom. Internally I suspect they just think I'm crazy, and they're tired of hearing me go on about it, so if it's important to you, let everyone else know.

Interesting. So GGPO for SFxTK is not confirmed. I remember twitter blowing up around E3 with people saying it was. Good to know.

I gotta say I am actually starting to get hyped for this game, I have actually not really paid attention to this game until recently. I was extremely hyped for MvC3 and Mortal Kombat but both games failed to impress me with their shitty online (also MvC3 is a bit too hectic for me which I should have seen coming), luckily SFxT online is going to be based on SSFIV which I am fine with as I have no problem with SSFIV netcode (can't belive both MvC3 and MK couldn't match it).

As for the game itself, I am actually liking what I see, I do admit SSFIV was far too defensive, and I like that they added a crazy juggle system (though not too crazy like MvC3 which is good). Also I like that the super bar is more like Alpha games where it fills up fast, and I like that Revenge is now gone. Basically this is SSFIV with more agressive play style added, revenge removed and a juggle system added, this all seems like what SSFIV actually needed. Finally I like they added tag as it sometimes gets boring sticking to one character, now I can stick to a main but still experiment by switching my secondary character. As for Tekken characters, I was actually a fan of Tekken back in the day with Tekken 2 and Tekken 3, I also played a bit of Tekken 5. I liked the Tekken but I always sucked with 3D fighters, so it's nice that I get these characters in a 2D engine I am more used to.

I am waiting for the iconic Tekken characters to be revealed, characters like Bob and Mardok are nice but I want to see the classic ones like Law, Yoshimitsu, Paul, Lei, Jack, Xiaoyu and Eddy Gordo.

EDIT
I just watched this video and Ono says Dan won't be in the game as this game doesn't take place in the same timeline where Dan is around. WTF does this mean, does it mean we won't see Alpha characters in the game.

Man those launcher zoom-ins are annoying.
Yeah, they are annoying the hell out of me as well. I just wish there was an option to not have the camera doing all of that extra shit.

Lmao, I thought this was some alternate reality anyway. This is gonna be canon material?

That's weird, Dan was in the ink teaser video at Comic Con

I think, I get what they meant, they probably mean in the SFxT timeline (which is a alt timeline to standard SF timeline) Dan is dead in this timeline, as shown in the first ink trailer, maybe he dies at the beginning of this game in a cutscene LOL

Same Here... I honestly am going to be surprised if I don't see Bryan. I'll mostly be happy if Dragunov makes it in though I won't hold my breath.

I'm kind of afraid how Ono could reimagine them. Kazuya, Nina, King, Julia, Marduk look perfect and pretty faithful to originals but Hwoarang? He really is totally different character.

I want Lee, Paul, Leo, Raven, Ling and Asuka among others but I'm afraid how would they handle them. Especially Paul's smasher qcf+p.

Yeah, Dragunov would play weird, but I see Bryan fitting pretty well in a weird fashion. Hwoarang does seem pretty damn different but He's still faithful in terms of some recognizable moves, but not the same in terms of play.

Jack-6 would fit well IMHO as well.

OK, I am wondering if the characters in this game have multiple Supers, basically does Ryu only have Hadoken super, or will he have more than that.

I think that's the first time I've read SKill instead of defending Capcom being like, "yeah, I want GGPO too, lets send them a message and get it to happpen!".

As for the Hwaorang thing, I think I was thinking of doing a launcher (he has one that hits low then high, right?) then just mashing LK to do a big hit combo. I played 5 a lot, 6 not so much.
