What's going to happen with Floyd?
He’s already dead.

Axel changes in the future patch;
One character I didn't expected to like so much is Floyd. I usually don't like to play with grabbers but he is very fun to play with. Love to use his Snes Batman-like double grab.
Floyd’s a lot of fun. Him and Adam have been my two most-used characters, though I got a nice rank boost on Skytrain by switching to Blaze…
Floyd's air special is huge also. It costs life so there's some risk, but you can jump kick, then air special, then jump kick and fly across almost the whole screen when you really need to move.Yeah, Adam and Floyd are the best characters in my opinion also. I like Cherry speed but she tosses the enemies too near her for my taste, it messes with the way I play. It is awesome there is this difference between the characters though! I need to play with her more to see if I can play her game.
Not even the mayor of Metro City convinced me to play as a grabber in brawlers, but I'm finding Floyd very fun. What I don't like about grab based characters is how slow they are, I don't like to stop punching to slowly walk until I can fight another character. But Floyd has a solution for this! We can pick enemies far away with his special, if we accept the potential cost in health! Awesome risk-reward.
His two grab is awesome also. The player needs to think if it is worth trying to maximize the damage picking two enemies or if it is best to hurt the enemy you already grabbed. Sometimes one birth in the hand worth two in the bush.
Great game!
Been absolutely addicted to this game the past week. BK2 is still my favorite but aside from a few minor quirks I very much enjoy this. So sucked in I went and played through original 3 games again for like the billionth time.
Never seem to get tired of these ^ - ^
Yeah I can play the originals time and again and not get bored. I’m still having a blast. Blaze is my girl, I just seem to get in better with her move set even though Floyd feels easier.

Every time this thread is bumped without the post "The patch is released" I leave disappointed.
I'm glad that people still want to talk ahout the game, though.
Don't get me wrong, the game is good. But I hit the game hard on release, did 40+ hours, and now I've done everything I want to do in its current form. Looking forward to buffed Axel and what seems to be a drastically different play style for Cherry.I'm having a shitload of fun with it in its current state. A patch will be nice but why not just enjoy it in the meantime? And each post might be another person finding out how awesome this game is. Also, this thread has given me tons of useful pointers in how to deal with different enemies so it's all good. In other news, I still absolutely fucking adore this game. Game of 2020 for me.

Thanks MasterDerico , looking forward to it!
Gameplay is king, which is why I was so happy to enjoy SoR4. You can tell it's a worth entry to the series when, like Kazza , I went back to old games and tried combing the way you do in 4. It's such a natural progression for the series. Forget my mild impatience for a patch, if there's no DLC or SoR5 I'll be genuinely disappointed because I want more. I'd also like to see them tackle another retro series like Golden Axe.Glad you enjoyed it - honestly this is a game that just puts a big smile on my face. SOR4 and Mario Odyssey have basically been my therapy for the last couple of months of lockdown boredom. Both utterly brilliant games in their own ways, both old-school pure gameplay-focused proper games. Games make life suck less.

I only played the original on Mega Drive (aside from a small try at sequels in the Sega collection on PS3), and you're largely right but that's why I think they could do the series some justice. Give the player more options with modern controllers like being able to choose the magic casting level (the original cast as high as possible) and let people choose their combos. There's room for some fun stuff to be done there.Oh I'd absolutely love some more SOR - DLC or sequel is fine, it's a day-one purchase either way. Re Golden Axe - I had it on the Atari ST so maybe that didn't help but it seemed a decent port, but with the compromise to using one fire button it seemed rather that the game played itself in that the character picked the move to perform at the time you pressed the button (the only player agency was being able to push the joystick up while pressing fire to jump) - I've not played the console versions so maybe that's not such an issue in those games? It just seemed to me that it had a lower skill level, though I did enjoy the visuals and the setting.
I think that's likely to come a lot closer to when the patch comes out. If they're still a month off then there's probably a fair amount that isn't set in stone yet.Aside from the character videos is there a list somewhere of what they will be looking to add in the upcoming patch?

I really tried to like SOR4 but Streets of Rage Remake v5 is better in many different ways.
The damage and hitbox in remake is far more satisfying as a starting and main example.
It played better than the originals and the community is irrelevant.I have to disagree, sorr don't even play like the originals, and the community is toxic.

The remake is decent enough, and when we had nothing else it did a useful job, but now we have Streets Of Rage 4 which imo did a fantastic job of bringing the series forward, and hopefully provided the devs with a platform to push the genre forward.
OpinionNo it doesn't play better, sorry.
Received it a while ago for Switch.Still waiting to here something......fuck...anything on when to expect the Limited Run Games SOR 4 physical copy.
Anyone out there get theirs yet?
