Stretch Panic...Yea or Nay?

Musashi Wins!

FLAWLESS VICTOLY!
Store by my house has this new for $30. I want to try it because its a Treasure game and I haven't played it. Yet..yet...reviews aren't very good. Most reviewers seem confused by the game. What do you say?

wasn't that game released at $20?

i mean, it's treasure, so it's not like it's bad. most of the reviews basically criticized it because it's an hour long tech demo.

if you look around, you can probably find it for $15 or less

If anyone but Treasure made this, everyone would be saying Nay, but it's not that bad, really.

$30 seems steep. It's used on Amazon for like $5.50. Buy it there instead.

yea, i see it available used for much less. that's the only time i've seen it locally new. but the price difference is too big. $5 = worth a chance, $30 = might feel ripped off.

$30 you'll absolutely feel ripped off. $5 is about right, but you'll still be a little disappointed, much as it pains me to say.

I had fun with it and while it's not technically pushing the PS2 it does do some very clever effects which were very fun to look at for me. I wouldn't go back and play it again though, no replay value imho.

This game isn't worth a penny because you'd actually have to spend time playing it. It's total garbage.

I thought it was... okay. And I spent $50 on it the day it came out. The weirdness is a lot of fun, but yeah, there ain't much of a game there. For the usual <$15 it goes for used, it's worth it just to look at the great and bizarre in-game artwork. Seriously. And it ain't that bad of a game.

I bought it new for 10 like 2 years ago - as a Treasure fan. It's kind of neat but only if you can get it dirt cheap. It's definitely not thier best game.

It's easily Treasure's worst game, unless you're a GameGo! editor in which case it's pretty fabulous.

If you have a Treasure collection, get it, but don't play it more than 20 minutes. You'll be sick of it by then anyway.

i feel bad about getting it at the Circuit City $5 sale. i knew it didn't get great reviews, but i love Treasure's games, so i figured there'd be some redeeming element for a Treasure fan. The cashier stated that he really wanted to give it a try, and that he was a Treasure fan as well. A week later i'm looking at the game, still unopened, and decide to just give the guy the game since he was so helpful in ringing games up for the sale and he actually wanted to play it. i called CC up and found out the guy didn't work there anymore. :(

...I was friends with GameGo's co-publisher and president, too. :lol But my lack of hatred for Stretch Panic doesn't come from that mag.

Sigh, say what you want about its fanboyism... but I actually liked GameGo. Any magazine that does a 2 page spread on Guwange is A-O-K in my book.

You know what's really sad about Stretch Panic is that, originally, it was going to be this epic Mario 64 style environment based adventure where you'd use the scarf to get around the levels etc. But do to budget and time constraints it ended beeing nothing but boss battles.

It is the one Treasure game I produced that I was most dissapointed with. Ah well. I have some AWESOME art and storyboards from the game's original design.

Nay.

i did the exact same thing. I rented it because I had just finished Bangio and i saw the "Treasure" name on this game, what a mistake that was. not even worth the $3.25 to rent it. not even for the gigantic stretchy boobs.

You owe me for selling me on Enclave...I was getting sniped THROUGH FLOORS :(

Stretch Panic was enough to put me off Treasure for a couple years, until Ikaruga and Astro Boy GBA removed the sour taste from my mouth.

Stretch Panic is the video game equivalent of waking up in a strange bed with four men depositing their fluids into your mouth.... and you're also a guy.

yeah: it's really not a finished game. i remember hearing that treasure had no plans to release it until conspiracy picked it up. it's really just a sketch for a game that might have been. but taken for what it is, i think it's fun. the visual style is reminiscent of silhouette mirage or dynamite headdy, and some of the boss fights are neat. i don't know that it's worth $30, but it's certainly worth $10.

for a second there I thought you were trying to say it is a less disgusting situation to be in if you are a girl...oh...
