Strike Back: Vengeance - Season 2 of the explosive action series - Fridays on Cinemax

This seems to be the most active thread for Strike Back. I just started Series 1 (the British one) with Porter as the lead. Watched the first three episodes. This show is pretty fucking awesome. That Collinson dude is a douchebag though. Porter's rad.

Just watched the entire series in like a week. Amazingly fun. Initially I was disappointed to read that John Porter wouldn't be on the show post-Season 1, but my worries were quickly put to rest with the excellent Die Hard opening to Project Dawn and that crazy sliding bomb catch from Stonebridge. Him and Scott make a really entertaining team. Blasted through both seasons with a dumb smile on my face the entire time.

Also worth mentioning how great the production values are. I have no idea how they manage to have SO MANY shootouts with what look to be actual blank rounds, squibs, real explosions, and often shredding locations to pieces. The gunplay per episode count is staggering in comparison to pretty much any action series I've ever seen. And not only do they do mid-long range scenes, but there was a close range John Woo standoff in S3E9, and great close quarters stuff in the S3 finale. Fantastic visuals, the great action staging and choreography, the audio mixing; everything is top notch.

So hype for the next season. Banshee and Strike Back, CINEMAX TAKE MY MONEY

There are a number of cool behind the scenes videos on the Cinemax website if you're interested. Look under "Extras". They show the work they put into the stunts, and as you know, the hard work pays off.

By the way, this is a free Cinemax weekend on a bunch of carriers right now, and they're running a ton of Strike Back episodes. Great time to check out the show if you haven't already. I'm watching a bit of the Indian hotel hostage scenario right now.

Have you reached the episode with the Israeli one? Because that was some of the kinkiest sex I've ever seen on TV.

I've watched Series (UK) 1 and Cinemax Season 2/Project Dawn up to Episode 5. Tonight I'll be watching 5 and 6, Monday 7 and 8, Wednesday, I'll finish it, and then Vengeance next week. I am really loving the show though.

"Fuck me. Nice catch, buddy."

We need to think of some drinking games for S3, like one shot of liquor for each time sobody says "fuck me" or long gulp of beer whenever Scott bangs a hot chick with an foreign accent.

Surviving gaffers will pick straws for the next OT.

The beer should also be regional to where they are at the time (or maybe the hard liquor should be regional).

This show is so great. I also thought the episode where
Sinclair was killed
was one of the best. I did not see that happening.

Have fun finding South African booze in continental Yurop :P

BTW, for those wondering, this is the armourer that provides the weapons for the show. They have enough firepower to invade Lesotho.

Currently watching the Scott pretends he's a hacker set of episodes.

Ha ha, I like where this is going even if my liver doesn't.

I ended up watching pretty much all of S1 last night. Good times. They're rerunning all of S2 this afternoon, so I might check out a bit of that.

I wish Cinemax would air the OG season 1 with Richard Armitage this summer as a Super Special SB Prequel Event to hype up season 4.

Started watching a bit of the S2 marathon. Stonebridge is running the live-fire training mission right now.

I still haven't seen that. Definitely will check it out before S4.

The S2 Algeria arc is rad, too.

"What did he have to say?"
"Oh, the usual bad guy bollocks. Oh and he said something about cutting off our cocks and putting them in our mouths."
"Awesome. I've been thinking about a new look."
"Try shaving."

One thing this series does well is give you bad guys you really hate. I have never wanted to kill somebody as badly as the Janjaweed commander in episode 5.

I really like the fact that Strike Back production crew travels across the world and films episode in real locations. So good.

BTW I did not know they are filming S3. Excellent news.

Isn't that the same one Sepinwall posted a month ago? That's why I didn't bother posting it.

I don't think so. AFAIK both are from the same episode (same river, boat and action sequences) but they show different parts of it. This one showed up on YT and FB just yesterday.

Anyway, I'm going to take Ratsky's advice and run to the hills just in case.

*hides*

Cool that we'll get some newish locations next season. They've done a great job of increasing the scope of the show and the cinematography gets better each season.

Well last season's scope was actually dialed back I felt since there was no Europe
