Pretty surprising for a Strikeforce card that every fighter (even Paul Daley!) made weight. 223 has to be lightest Fedor has ever been right?

Really excited about this matchup. Hendo is on a much better streak, but it's not like he's gonna catch Fedor in a quick submission or overwhelm him with size. Fedor should take this unless he continues to decline.

I just think of the Shields v Hendo* fight and think that there is no way Fedor loses this, he is probably quicker than Hendo and better on the ground, and bigger, and if he does, it's hard to say if he should come back, but I'd still like to see a few of those dream match ups come to fruition.

The main card starts at 10 PM est. Hard to say when the Fedor fight will start seeing as how there is a 5-round co-main event and 3 fights before that. Fedor-Hendo fight could start around 11:30 but there have been a number of Strikeforce events that were over quickly.

Regarding Zuffa releasing Strikeforce heavyweight champion Alistair Overeem from his contract, that will also results in stripping him of his title, it was due to a negotiating impasse with Zuffa and Bas Boon and Golden Glory, Overeem's mangaement team. With a lot of the teams, when it came to Strikeforce, Pride, Dream and other promotions, they would pay the management team most of the money and the team would pay the fighters. Zuffa policy is to directly pay the fighters. Obviously there is a lot more to it than that, but the Zuffa mentality is that there is a reason all the other groups were losing money and going out of business and they aren't going to at this point change how they do business. Overeem is not the only fighter who falls into this category, as Fedor Emelianenko, whose fight tonight is the final one on his Strikeforce contract, also has similar terms. These may not be exact numbers, but besides listing M-1 Global as co-promoters (I've seen and heard advertising listing this as a Strikeforce/M-1 Global show) Emelianenko may get paid a listed $300,000 or so,but there is also another figure, maybe $1.2 million or more, which goes to M-1 Global.
