So all you gotta do to become rich in america is write a story in ghetto slang about being a real life prostitute, but make sure to play the innocent bystander that wasn't an actual prostitute.

Good lesson for the young girls who happen across this on twitter.

lol, this post is cute

This post is a mess. A MESS.

Jess and Rudy are nuts. Though honestly, Jess even more.

I'm posting my own an accomplace's backpage now. Can't wait to make it.

I'm actually surprised more of this than not ended up being true. The more outlandish details seem to be false, but hey, storytelling and all that. I hope the movie version (if it happens) doesn't go for 100% accuracy and more for entertainment.
With the outlandish details excluded, the real story is basically just a glimpse inside everyday life of the pimp/prostitution game.

Looks like the journey ends here: https://www.washingtonpost.com/news...-the-epic-twitter-story-too-crazy-to-be-real/

Just about all the question of Zola's story have been answered. Jessica looking more like a co-conspirator than a victim now.

well, this whole thing sure went through a lot of twists. And there isn't really anything funny about the story anymore. Yet when people were saying this about the fake story everyone attacked them on the first 20 pages

the way Zola told the story was entertaining as shit and nothing will ever change that.

Zola's story is still just as dark as the "real" one with the actual murder going down and the scene where Jess is raped while Jarret is forced to watch.

You're completely missing the context but w/e, you're not gonna understand from me telling you.

Seems like Jess shoulda kept her mouth shut. Went from being a hooker without a clue to ... trying to spin it as her being a top bitch in her story to now being revealed as Z's fucking partner in crime, helping him in-sneer unsuspecting young women so that he can force them into prostitution/ sex slavery.

This is almost as twisty as Dark Side Jar Jar ... almost.

24 pages on a story that wasn't even that good and which turned out to be even more boring when all the facts are in.

There's a million more "hood" stories more exciting and tragic then this snooze-fest.

I still don't get why this few tweets has people ready to nominate this as screenplay of the year.

Was not expecting the real story to be even darker. Heavy stuff there.

This. Figured there might be more to the story (which was always tragic and simply not good. Just how it was told was humorous and attention grabbing.) but didn't expect what was reported. The real events are actually worse and had Jess not opened her mouth and just let it go none of this likely would have blown up the way it did to bring all of this to light. What I completely did not expect was the switch regarding Jess being what seems like a willing partner in this to ensare other girls.

Pretty easy to tell from the outset it was bullshit, actually. The "crazy" parts that everyone was wanking over didn't happen.

Except the story wasn't bullshit "from the outset," apparently. Almost all of the early parts of the story appear to be true. It's a bunch of the later stuff in the story that seems to be bullshit, which means it would have been literally impossible for you to know that "from the outset."

Am I the only one who had trouble trying to comprehend most of those tweets? Not sure what kind of slang that's supposed to be. Figured out the gist at the end though, pretty fucked up stuff. Could definitely see it being turned into a fucked up movie. Nothing I'd watch though, especially if the characters speak the way those tweets sound...

Oh-ho ho, you better keep that to yourself in this thread, buddy ;)

Next level trolling

Oh man, why did that Washington Post article have to come out while I am at work. I am so damn curious but I can't read it here.

So pretty much what everyone thought with both being hookers plus the twist of Jess running game with Z for who knows how long. That definitely took a dark turn toward the end.

Of the 3, Jarrett told the truest version of events from his perspective it seems.

Okay, now I know you're just trying to get a rise out of people.

I still wouldn't jump on Jess too much. She was under a pimp's control. If a girl's pimp wants her to recruit she'll recruit.

Outside of the verifiable facts the interpersonal stuff in the later half is just he-say-she-say from what I can tell.

Example-
Zola says Dread head tried to take Jess, Z shot him.
Jess says Zola was the one trapping and who was gonna be taken, Z called the cops.
Jarret says that Jess says some guy tried to take her but she got away, Z calls the cops.

The verifiable facts show that the shooting didn't happen/ wasn't reported (so it seems like it didn't happen) but it seems likely that someone was trying to snatch up Jess (Jess's story reeks of non-sense and it's proven that she was trappin from the BP ad).

Taking anyone's story as the full truth in this situation is a mistake imo. Everyone's trying to make themselves come across as some ride-a-long bystander like member of the party when they're likely all victims to some level given that we know more of the relationship between Z and Jess and how much of a monster he is as well as how attached to him Jess is.

Really paints things in a tragic light.

Now? The original story was always tragic.

It was told in an entertaining way like any amazing pop song about serious issues but if you paid attention the lyrics you would realize how fucked up it actually was in spite of the peppy melodies.

Because they were being clueless to how human interactions work. The story definitely was entertaining in a very fucked up way.

King told her mildly embellished story in a way that implies "yo check out what happened to me." She was inviting us into her a world like a friend instead of a victim looking for justice.

the diet racism is strong with this one

Jesus H. Christ, you weren't kidding with the twist thing. You honestly can't make this shit up.

I'm glad that at least Jarret moved the hell on and didn't answer Jess' call.

EDIT: The Post article is depressing as hell. This world. Ugh.

Hi GAF.

One of the things I love the most about GAF and its community is how precise and strict the mods are when stupid stuff gets thrown around. I just came back from a well deserved 2 week ban from a post I did on page 30 of this thread and I'm here again only to apologize to fellow gaffers. I'm not here to make excuses for myself. I indeed was having a bad day, I was irritated, posted something I shouldn't in the middle of the night and went to sleep. I know better than that. And you guys deserved better.

So, again, I offer my sincere apologies and I'll make sure this doesn't happen ever again.

Thank you. <3 GAF

You are forgiven, President Clinton.
